Beşiktaş (Istanbul Metro)
Beşiktaş is a currently under construction underground metro station located on the M7 line of the Istanbul Metro, Currently on hold due to archeological excavation, and it is planned to have a museum in the station when completed. It is planned to be open in 2024, as there have also been archeological sites discovered at the Kabataş station. Istanbul Metro
The Istanbul Metro ( tr, İstanbul metrosu) is a rapid transit railway network that serves the city of Istanbul, Turkey. It is operated by Metro Istanbul, a company (formerly known as ''İstanbul Ulaşım A.Ş.'' before 2016), a public enterprise, controlled by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The oldest section of the metro is the M1 line, which opened in 1989; it now includes 111 stations in service, with 100 more under construction. Barbaros Boulevard
The Barbaros Boulevard ( tr, Barbaros Bulvarı) is a -long major street in the Beşiktaş district on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey. It runs in a straight line in south–north direction from Beşiktaş Square over Yıldız, Beşiktaş, Yıldız up to Zincirlikuyu, where it passes over to Büyükdere Avenue. It is named after the Ottoman Empire, Ottoman admiral of the fleet Hayreddin Barbarossa ( tr, Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa) (c. 1478–1546), whose tomb is located in Beşiktaş. Beşiktaş
Beşiktaş () is a district and municipality of Istanbul, Turkey, located on the European shore of the Bosphorus strait. It is bordered on the north by Sarıyer and Şişli, on the west by Kağıthane and Şişli, on the south by Beyoğlu, and on the east by the Bosphorus. Directly across the Bosphorus is the district of Üsküdar. M7 (Istanbul Metro)
The M7, officially referred to as the M7 Kabataş–Mahmutbey metro line ( tr, M7 Kabataş–Mahmutbey metro hattı) is a rapid transit line of the Istanbul Metro system on the European part of Istanbul, Turkey. On 20 December 20, 2013, the line was commissioned to Kalyon Group for construction. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on 9 February 2014. The line is long with 19 stations. The line is divided into three phases. Currently, it is partly in service. The section between Mecidiyeköy and Mahmutbey was inaugurated on 28 October 2020. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. Kabataş (Istanbul Metro)
Kabataş is an underground station and eastern terminus of the F1 funicular line and will be the eastern terminus of the M7 metro line of the Istanbul Metro . The station is located under Meclis-i Mebusan Avenue in northeastern Beyoğlu. Connections to the T1 tram line, ferry service and city bus service are available on the surface.
