Bernstorffsvej Station
Bernstorffsvej station is a commuter rail railway station serving the northeastern part of the district of Hellerup in Gentofte Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. The station is located on the Hillerød branch of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark, served by the E-line between Høje Taastrup station and Holte station while the longer A-line doesn't stop at this station. The station is served every 10th minute in each direction. The station was opened on 15 May 1936, together with the S-train line Hellerup-Holte. It has altered very little since, except for the addition of a lift and a viaduct across Bernstorffsvej, which was rebuilt in 1969. The station is in need of renovation and has been unmanned for many years. Tickets can be purchased from an automat or via SMS/internet. See also: List of Copenhagen S-train lines There are 86 stations that are operated in normal operation on the Copenhagen S-train, an urban rail network which serves the Copenhagen metropolitan area in Denmark. The stations are located on six suburban radial routes - A, B, Bx, C, E, H, and a ring line ( F). Forty-six are elevated, twenty-one are street level, fifteen are below street, four have different levels and one is underground. Hellerup
Hellerup () is a very affluent district of Gentofte Municipality in the suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. The most urban part of the district is centred on Strandvejen and is bordered by Østerbro to the south and the Øresund to the east. It comprises Tuborg Havn, the redeveloped brewery site of Tuborg Breweries, with the Waterfront Shopping Center, a marina and the headquarters of several large companies. Other parts of the district consist of single family detached homes. Local landmarks include the science centre Experimentarium and the art Øregaard Museum. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. DSB (railway Company)
DSB, an abbreviation of ''Danske Statsbaner'' (, ''Danish State Railways''), is the largest Danish train operating company, and the largest in Scandinavia. While DSB is responsible for passenger train operation on most of the Danish railways, goods transport and railway maintenance are outside its scope. Gentofte Municipality
Gentofte Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the Capital Region of Denmark (''Region Hovedstaden'') on the east coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. Nordbanen is one of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen. It connects Copenhagen city center with several northern suburbs, and the cities of Hillerød, Birkerød and Allerød Stations Service patterns The weekday service consists of service A which stops at all stations until Holte, and E which runs with limited stops until Holte and then stops at all stations until Hillerød. Copenhagen S-train
The Copenhagen S-train ( da, S-tog), the S-train of Copenhagen, Denmark is a key part of public transport in the city. It is a hybrid urban- suburban rail serving most of the Copenhagen urban area, and is analogous to S-Bahn systems of Berlin, Vienna and Hamburg. The trains connect the Copenhagen inner city with Hillerød, Klampenborg, Frederikssund, Farum, Høje Taastrup and Køge. There are 170 km of double track with 86 S-train stations, of which eight are in neighbouring towns outside greater Copenhagen. The S-train is run by DSB S-tog A/S while Banedanmark owns the tracks and signals. Høje Taastrup Station
Høje Taastrup station () is a railway station in Høje-Taastrup municipality, Denmark, opened on 31 May 1986. The station is one of the largest in Denmark. It is the terminus of S-train services B and Bx on the Taastrup radial. The station is further served by regional, InterCity and even international trains. At the south end of the railroad station complex stands "Thor's Tower" ''(Torstårnet),'' the tallest sculpture in the Nordic countries.
