Bent (album)
''Bent'' is the third studio album by American musician Cody Critcheloe, under his pseudonym Ssion. It was released on September 18, 2012, by Dovecote Records. Critical reception ''Bent'' was met with "generally favorable" reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, this release received an average score of 63 based on 4 reviews. In a review for ''Tiny Mix Tapes'', critic reviewer Conrad Tao wrote: "''Bent'', the band’s newest record, is brazenly shallow pop music, aware of and confident in its insubstantiality and general tackiness. ''Bent'' seems like a fashionable record at the moment is curious — the witch house camp's visual sense is closely aligned with Cody Critcheloe's distinctive artwork, and 1980s pop deconstructionism is certainly experiencing a particularly strong renaissance right now." Electropop
Electropop is a hybrid music genre combining elements of electronic and pop genres. Writer Hollin Jones has described it as a variant of synth-pop with heavy emphasis on its electronic sound. The genre was developed in the 1980s and saw a revival of popularity and influence in the late 2000s. Dovecote Records
Dovecote Records was a New York-based independent record label. It was run by its founder, Carter Matschullat, and was distributed by Redeye Distribution in the US. Artists and projects Dovecote's roster included Wise Blood, SSION, Hooray for Earth, Supreme Cuts, Ski Lodge, Jonquil, Wunder Wunder, The Futureheads, Ed Harcourt, Mason Proper, Tim Williams, Trevor Giuliani, Cast Spells, Bad Veins, Blamma! Blamma! and Aberdeen City. In 2011 Dovecote Records held a SXSW showcase featuring performances by Wise Blood, Hooray for Earth, Dominique Young Unique, Baths, Trash Talk, and Big Freedia. Apple Music is a music, audio and video streaming service developed by Apple Inc. Users select music to stream to their device on-demand, or they can listen to existing playlists. The service also includes the Internet radio stations Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits, and Apple Music Country, which broadcast live to over 200 countries 24 hours a day. The service was announced on June8, 2015, and launched on June30, 2015. New subscribers get a one-month free or six months free trial with the purchase of select products before the service requires a monthly subscription. Metacritic
Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. Weighted Arithmetic Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. The notion of weighted mean plays a role in descriptive statistics and also occurs in a more general form in several other areas of mathematics. If all the weights are equal, then the weighted mean is the same as the arithmetic mean. While weighted means generally behave in a similar fashion to arithmetic means, they do have a few counterintuitive properties, as captured for instance in Simpson's paradox. Amanda Lucille Warner (born September 12, 1982), known professionally as MNDR, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. She rose to prominence after being featured on Mark Ronson & The Business Intl's 2010 single " Bang Bang Bang", which peaked at number six on the UK Singles Chart.
