Benidorm International Song Festival
The Benidorm International Song Festival ( es, Festival Internacional de la Canción de Benidorm), until 2004 simply Benidorm Song Festival ( es, Festival de la Canción de Benidorm, links=no), was an annual song contest held in the city of Benidorm, Spain. The contest, based on the Italian Sanremo Music Festival, was created to promote Benidorm and Spanish music. It originally ran from 1959 to 2006 (except in 1979, 1984 and from 1986 to 1992, when it was not held) and used to take place in the summer. After 2006, it did not take place again through 2021, when a revamped version of the festival, under the name Benidorm Fest, was announced by Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE) and the Generalitat Valenciana to serve as the platform to select the for the Eurovision Song Contest, starting in 2022. Benidorm is a town and municipality in the province of Alicante, Valencia, on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. Aerolíneas Federales was a Spanish pop/rock band from the decade of the 1980s. It was formed in Vigo, Galicia. History Formed in Vigo in 1981 by Miguel Costas and his friends Flechi and Silvino. In the beginning, they played guitar, bass and beatbox. By 1983, the group incorporated a drum-kit and Flechi became the singer of the band. José Velázquez Jiménez (born 15 November 1951 in Telde, Gran Canaria), better known by his stage name José Vélez (), is a Spanish singer. Eleuterio Sánchez Rodríguez (born 15 April 1942), known as El Lute, was at one time listed as Spain's "Most Wanted" criminal and later became a published writer. He was a legendary Spanish outlaw who escaped several times from prison after being convicted of murder and sentenced at age 23 to 30 years.
