José Vélez
José Velázquez Jiménez (born 15 November 1951 in Telde, Gran Canaria), better known by his stage name José Vélez (), is a Spanish singer. In the late 1960s, a music teacher from the Organización Juvenil Española (Spanish Youth Organisation) had the idea to create the music group Grupo Marabilla with some of his students, among them José Velázquez. When the group was dissolved, he began his solo career. In 1968 he participated in the talent contest ''Salto a la fama'' in Madrid and he began to get some recognition, which led him to establish in Madrid. In 1976, he brought out his first album, ''Vino Griego'', and in 1977 he participated at the Sopot International Song Festival with the song "Romántica". "Su canción" (; "") is a song recorded by Peruvian-Spanish singer Betty Missiego, written by Fernando Moreno. It is best known as the entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1979, held in Jerusalem. The song was internally chosen by the Spanish broadcaster, Televisión Española (TVE), as their representative in the Contest that year. Internal selection From 1977 to 1999, TVE used an internal selection process to select both the singer and the song to represent them at Eurovision. For 1979, Betty Missiego, a 34-year-old singer and television presenter from Peru who had previous song contest experience representing Peru at the OTI Festival 1972 in Madrid, was selected to go to Jerusalem with the song "Su canción", written and composed by Fernando Moreno. Beatriz Teresa Missiego Campos (born 16 January 1938 in Lima, Peru) better known as Betty Missiego () is a Peruvian singer, who has held dual Spanish citizenship since 1972 and lives in Spain. In her native Peru, Betty began her career as a dancer, but she was forced to abandon professional dancing due to an injury. She continued pursuing a career in show business and was a host for a television program that brought her great popularity in her native country. In 1969, she moved to Spain to pursue a singing career, where she received Spanish citizenship in 1972. She currently holds dual citizenship in both Spain and Peru. Micky (born Miguel Ángel Carreño Schmelter October 20, 1943, in Madrid) is a Spanish singer. He began his music career in 1962 leading the band Micky y Los Tonys, which brought out 30 singles (including hits like "No sé nadar") and 5 albums. Meanwhile, Micky acted in some films as it was usual for singers in Spain in the 1960s and worked for Cadena SER as a radio presenter. Micky began his solo music career in the 1970s. Some of his first hits were "Soy así" and "El chico de la armónica". The single "Bye bye fräulein" (1976) entered the charts in Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, and made the Billboard Easy Listening charts in the United States.
