Alon Bement
Alon Bement (1876–1954) was an American artist, arts administrator, author, and teacher. He served as the Dean of Traphagen School of Fashion from 1946 until 1951. Early life and education Alon Bement was born on August 15, 1876, in Ashfield, Massachusetts. His family was of French descendant, with a prior name of "Beaumont". His family help found the town of Deerfield, Massachusetts. Bement graduated from Boston Museum School of Fine Art in 1898, and continued his studies first in Sweden then in Paris at Académie Julian and École des Beaux-Arts, studying under artists Leon Bonnat and Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant. In 1902, Bement returned to New York City as a tutor at City College of New York and eventually rising in the ranks to an instructor role. He was married to actress, Katherine Emmet in 1914. Linda Bement
Linda Jeanne Bement (November 2, 1941 – March 19, 2018) was an American model and beauty queen who became the third Miss USA to be crowned Miss Universe. She died of natural causes on March 19, 2018, at her home in Salt Lake City. Miss Universe 1960 A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bement was the second woman from Utah to be crowned Miss USA. She represented the United States in the Miss Universe 1960 pageant, broadcast from Miami Beach, Florida, where she was crowned the winner of the title by Miss Universe 1959, Akiko Kojima of Japan. The 1960 pageant was the first Miss Universe pageant to be televised nationwide. Brian Bement (born July 2, 1993) is an American soccer player who plays for St. Louis Ambush of the Major Arena Soccer League. Career Bement played college soccer at Loyola University Chicago between 2011 and 2014. Puerto Rico FC Bement signed with Puerto Rico Football Club of the North American Soccer League on March 31, 2016. Following the regular season, PRFC took part in and won the inaugural Copa Luis Villarejo, earning the team a spot in the 2017 Caribbean Club Championship. Bement scored two goals in the second leg of his team's First Round match-up against Guayama FC. He was released at the end of the 2017 season.
