Behnam Mahmoudi
Behnam Mahmoudi ( fa, بهنام محمودی, born April 25, 1980 in Meyaneh) is an Iranian former volleyball player, who capped for more than 8 years in the Iran National Volleyball Team of the year 1998-2006. His brother Shahram Mahmoudi is also a successful international player. Mahmoudi was famous for being the first Iranian volleyball player to ever play professionally outside of his country in a world top league when he signed for Perugia Volley in the first division of Italian Volleyball League, Serie A1. He is currently vice-chairman of the City Council Civil Karaj. Meyaneh
Mianeh ( fa, ميانه; az, Miyana, میانا; also Romanized as Meyāneh, Miane, Miyāna, Meyaneh, and Mīyaneh) is a city and capital of Mianeh County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. It is the fourth most populous city in East Azerbaijan province. Mianeh is situated in a valley, approximately northwest of Tehran and approximately southeast of East Azerbaijan's largest city and capital, Tabriz. Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship
The Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship, previously the AVC Cup Men's Club Tournament (between 1999–2002), is an annual continental club volleyball competition organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continental governing body. The competition was first contested in 1999 in China. It was not held in 2003 and 2020 due to 2002–2004 SARS outbreak and COVID-19 pandemic respectively. The winner of the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship qualifies for the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship. Paykan Tehran hold the record for most victories, winning the competition eight times. Teams from Iran have won the tournament 16 times, the most for any nation. Iranian Volleyball Super League
The Iranian Volleyball Super League (IVSL) is a professional volleyball league in Iran at the top of the Iranian volleyball league system. It was founded in 1975 as the Pasargad Cup, but after the Iranian Revolution it was renamed to the first Division. In 1997 the league system was revamped and the Iranian Super League was established. Paykan Tehran has won the most titles in the new Super League with 12 titles. History The first season of a national Iranian volleyball league was held in 1975 with 12 teams competing. In 1976 Esteghlal became the champions for the first time, and they repeated this feat in the following season. In 1979 due to the Iranian Revolution the league was canceled.
