Beate Schramm
Beate Schramm (born 21 June 1966) is a German rower and Olympic gold medallist. Between 1986 and 1991, she won four senior world championship titles, after having previously twice been junior world champion. She won gold at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the quad sculls event for East Germany, but missed the A final at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics in the single sculls event when she competed for Germany. She was national rowing champion a total of six times; four times in East Germany and twice German champion after the reunification. Early life Schramm was born in Leisnig, Saxony in 1966; at the time, this was in East Germany. Rowing career East Germany Schramm belonged to the National People's Army and was allowed to train full time. She competed for the SC Dynamo Berlin / Sportvereinigung (SV) Dynamo. Leisnig ( hsb, Lěsnik) is a small town in the district of Mittelsachsen, in the state of Saxony in Germany, 50 kilometers southeast of Leipzig. SC Dynamo Berlin
The Sports Club Dynamo Berlin was an East German sports club that existed from 1954 to 1991. It was the largest sports club of SV Dynamo, the sports association of the security agencies. The club was disbanded after German reunification and eventually succeeded by sports club SC Berlin. Sporting spectrum The sports club offered the following kinds of sport in the 1980s: team handball, athletics, gymnastics, cycling, speed skating, racewalking, figure skating, ice hockey, fencing, boxing, and volleyball. The departments in equestrianism, modern pentathlon and parachuting were separated from the sports club in 1956 and merged into the new sports club SC Dynamo Hoppegarten in Hoppegarten. Kathrin Boron
Kathrin Boron (born 4 November 1969 in Eisenhüttenstadt, East Germany) is a German sculler, and four-time Olympic gold medallist. She's an athlete of the SV Dynamo / SG Dynamo Potsdam. Boron won the women's double sculls at the 1992 Summer Olympics with Kerstin Köppen and 2000 Summer Olympics with Jana Thieme, and the women's quad sculls at the 1996 Summer Olympics and 2004 Summer Olympics.
