Beaconsfield Rugby Club
Beaconsfield Rugby Football Club, from Beaconsfield, England, was founded in 1952 by Jack Hickman, a rugby enthusiast and a leading light at Ealing RFC. Because of the distance he had to travel to support Ealing, he decided to form a new local club and an advert was placed in the Bucks Free Press, along with local contacts. Eventually the first match was played on 1953-10-03 against Windsor Ex 'A'. Beaconsfield have always played on the pitches at Oak Lodge Meadow, but sometimes used the local Army Camp pitch. Before the first clubhouse was obtained, the sides changed at the Army Camp, had tea in the Puffins Tea Shop in the old town and adjourned to The White Horse to entertain the opposition. In 1958, small Burnham Hall was obtained to become the clubhouse. The present clubhouse was completed in 1971. Beaconsfield ( ) is a market town and civil parish within the unitary authority of Buckinghamshire, England, west-northwest of central London and south-southeast of Aylesbury. Three other towns are within : Gerrards Cross, Amersham and High Wycombe. The Buckinghamshire Rugby Football Union is the sports governing body, governing body for the sport of rugby union in the county of Buckinghamshire in England. The union is the constituent body of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) for Buckinghamshire, and administers and organises rugby union clubs and competitions in the county. Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club is an English professional rugby union club based in West London. The club's first team are the current champions of the RFU Championship but will remain in that league due to ineligibility for promotion to Premiership Rugby. They were promoted to the league after they won National League 1 in 2014–15. Structure of the club The club's registered playing name with the RFU is Ealing Trailfinders. Mini Rugby
Mini rugby, also known as New Image Rugby, is a form of rugby union designed to introduce the sport to children. It uses a smaller ball and pitch than standard rugby, and has eight to ten players a side. Invented in England in 1970, mini rugby was soon taken up by both the English Rugby Football Union (RFU) and the Welsh Rugby Union. The original game had five backs and four forwards. There were no line-outs and no pushing in the scrum, which was made up of a prop, a hooker, a lock and a flanker. Each position behind the scrum in the senior game was represented by a scrum half, an outside half, a centre, a wing and a fullback. Counties 1 Southern North (formerly known as Southern Counties North) is a division at level 7 of the English rugby union system. When league rugby first began in 1987 it was a single league known as Southern Counties but since 1996 the division was split into two regional leagues - Southern Counties North and Southern Counties South. Berks, Bucks and Oxon Division 1 is an English rugby union league featuring teams from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. As with all of the divisions in this area at this level, the entire league is made up of second and third teams of clubs whose first teams play at a higher level of the rugby union pyramid.
