Buckinghamshire Rugby Football Union
The Buckinghamshire Rugby Football Union is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in the county of Buckinghamshire in England. The union is the constituent body of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) for Buckinghamshire, and administers and organises rugby union clubs and competitions in the county. It also administers the Buckinghamshire county rugby representative teams. The union was founded at a meeting at High Wycombe on 16 July 1949 during a drinking session at one of the founders house. Senior county team Buckinghamshire has a county rugby team that has taken part in the County Championships since 1966. They currently play in Division 3 of the County Championship, and as of 2017 have yet to receive any county honours although they have reached several semi-finals in recent years. The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is the national governing body for rugby union in England. It was founded in 1871, and was the sport's international governing body prior to the formation of what is now known as World Rugby (WR) in 1886. It promotes and runs the sport, organises international matches for the England national team, and educates and trains players and officials. The RFU is an industrial and provident society owned by over 2,000 member clubs, representing over 2.5 million registered players, and forms the largest rugby union society in the world, and one of the largest sports organisations in England. Marlow Rugby Union Football Club
Marlow Rugby Club is an English Rugby Union club. That was formed in 1947. Marlow Rugby Club play at Riverwoods Drive, which is located in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. It currently has 4 senior sides, ladies, Colts, full Youth (most age groups run 2 sides) and Mini Section. Marlow IS to be the birthplace of Mini Rugby in English, and runs one of the oldest Mini Tournaments, now in its 44th year. History 1912 - 1946 Officially the Club was formed at a meeting held at the Chequers Hotel in the High Street, Marlow on Tuesday 3 February 1947. However, a rugby match was played on 8 February 1913 on Crown Meadow against High Wycombe RFC and (not for the first time), Marlow triumphed by 13pts to nil. Berks/Bucks & Oxon 1
Berks, Bucks and Oxon Division 1 is an English rugby union league featuring teams from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. As with all of the divisions in this area at this level, the entire league is made up of second and third teams of clubs whose first teams play at a higher level of the rugby union pyramid. As this is the top league in the region for second teams there is no promotion to a higher league. Relegated teams drop to Berks/Bucks & Oxon 2. Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship was a division at level 9 of the English rugby union system featuring teams from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Promoted teams moved up to the Berks/Bucks & Oxon Premier and there was no relegation. Each year three teams (one each from the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire unions) were picked to take part in the RFU Junior Vase (a national cup competition for clubs at levels 9-12). Originally the league was set up as Bucks & Oxon 2 and then Berks/Bucks & Oxon 2 before being disbanded in 2003–04 as the league was restructured to cater for the joining of many second, third and fourth teams and was split into regional divisions. Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier is a division at level 8 of the English rugby union system featuring teams from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Promoted teams usually move up to Southern Counties North while relegated teams used to drop to the Berks/Bucks & Oxon Championship, although this division has been discontinued as of the end of the 2018–19 season. Each year three teams (one each from the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire unions) are picked to take part in the RFU Senior Vase (a level 8 national cup competition). Dorset and Wilts Rugby Football Union (Dorset & Wilts RFU) is the governing body for rugby union in the counties of Dorset and Wiltshire, England. Dorset & Wilts RFU is a Constituent Body of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and is responsible for the management and administration of the game within the counties of Dorset and Wiltshire of all forms and at all levels. The Oxfordshire Rugby Football Union is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in the county of Oxfordshire in England.
