Basti Malook ( ur, ) is a town in the Multan District, Punjab, Pakistan. Basti Malook, its localities and sub-towns comprise a population of around 20,000. It is located at and an altitude of 119 meters. Basti Malook is a town situated 35 km in south of Multan. Duniya Pur is located to its east. There's Shuja Abad to its west, well known for its mangoes. In its south there is another population named Makhdoom Aali. This place is known for its Halwa, the most popular being Munawar ka Sohan Halwa. History Before partition, Basti Maluk and surrounding areas were largely unpopulated and consisted of uncultivated land. In order to start cultivation in this area, in 1930 British Raj settled a large number of agricultural families here. Multan District ( ur, ), is a district in the Punjab province of Pakistan. According to the 1998 census of Pakistan it had a population of 3,116,851 (1.315 million or 42.2% in urban areas). Its capital is the city of Multan. The district of Multan is spread over an area of 3,721 square kilometres. The district consists of tehsils of Multan saddar, Multan city, Jalalpur Pirwala and Shujabad. History Vehari, Khanewal and Lodhran were Tehsils of Multan district. Pakistan Standard Time ( ur, , abbreviated as PKT) is UTC+05:00 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. The time zone is in use during standard time in Asia. History Pakistan had been following UTC+05:30 since 1907 (during the British Raj) and continued using it after independence in 1947. On 15 September 1951, following the findings of mathematician Mahmood Anwar, two time zones were introduced. ''Karachi Time (KART)'' was introduced in West Pakistan by adjusting 30 minutes off UTC+05:30 to UTC+05:00, while ''Dacca Time'' (DACT) was introduced in East Pakistan by subtracting 30 minutes off UTC+06:30 to UTC+06:00. Jhelum District
Jhelum District (Urdu and pnb, ), is partially in Pothohar Plateau, and partially in Punjab Plain of the Punjab province of Pakistan. Jhelum is one of the oldest districts of Punjab.
