Basket Torino, for sponsorship reasons Reale Mutua Torino, is an Italian basketball club based in Turin. Established in 2019 as successor of Auxilium Torino, the club will make its debut in the 2019–20 Serie A2 Basket. History In June 2019, Auxilium Torino was dissolved after the club was declared bankrupt after months of financial struggles, which had led to relegation from the Lega Basket Serie A in May. As a result, Reale Mutua Basket Torino was founded after Stefano Sardara moved his club Dinamo Academy Cagliari from Cagliari to Turin. The team will make its debut in the 2019–20 season in the Serie A2 Basket, Italy's second tier. Stefano Sardara was the majority holder with 75% while the Una Mole di Basket organization owns 25% of the club. On 21 June 2019, Demis Cavina was announced as head coach. Serie A2 Basket
Serie A2, known for sponsorship reasons as Serie A2 Old Wild West, is a men's basketball league in Italy. It constitutes the second-tier of the Italian league pyramid, below the first division LBA and above the third division Serie B, with promotion/relegation occurring between these leagues. It is run by the Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro (LNP), itself regulated by the FIP, the Italian federation. Names History The league was created in May 1974, by the Lega Basket, the organisation in charge of running the LBA (to this day), that decided to create a new second division with 10 clubs. The two that were relegated during that season, and 8 from the now-former second tier Serie B, chosen with an on and off the court criteria. PalaRuffini, formerly known as Palasport di Torino, is a multi-purpose Indoor arena located in Turin, Italy. It is primarily used for basketball and volleyball games, as well as boxing matches and concerts. The arena's seating capacity is 4,500 people. History The arena was opened in 1961. Niccolò De Vico (born 19 July 1994) is an Italian professional basketball player for Pallacanestro Varese of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). Standing at 2.00 m (6 ft. 7 in.), he plays at the small forward positions. Professional career Clubs Since 2009, Niccolò De Vico took part to the youth of Pallacanestro Biella. He made his first match in Serie A in 2010, just one minute against Montepaschi Siena. He became a stable player of Biella's roster since the 2012–13 season. Auxilium Pallacanestro Torino was an Italian professional basketball club that was based in Turin, Piedmont. It competed in the first division of Italian basketball, the LBA for the last time in the 2018–19 season. The club won one trophy, when it won the Italian Basketball Cup in 2018. The Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) is a professional men's club basketball league that has been organised in Italy since 1920.
