Ballymun Kickhams
Ballymun Kickhams (Irish: ''Ciceam Bhaile Munna'' ) is a GAA club in Ballymun, Dublin, Ireland. The club has a clubhouse and its home pitch, ''Pairc Ciceam'', just off the Ballymun (junction 4) exit of the M50. Ballymun also has a full size astroturf pitch. The club derives its name from Charles Joseph Kickham (1828–1882). They last won the Dublin Senior Football Championship in 2020. History The club was set up in 1969 following the merging of two clubs, Ballymun Gaels and C.J. Kickhams. Senior status was first achieved in 1978 when Ballymun Kickhams beat Fingal Ravens in the Intermediate league final. In 1981 Ballymun made it to their first Dublin Senior Football Championship Final. The club's Intermediate team participated in the 2010 RTÉ series ''Celebrity Bainisteoir'', with Today FM's Maireád Farrell. Ballymun Kickhhams Logo
Ballymun () is an outer suburb of Dublin, Ireland, at the northern edge of the Northside, the green-field development of which began in the 1960s to accommodate a housing crisis in inner city areas of Dublin. While the newly built housing was state-of-the-art at the time, comprising high-rise tower blocks and flat complexes, residents were moved in years before shops, schools and other infrastructure were fully ready, and the area became well known for both a strong community spirit and considerable social challenges. Ballymun has several sub-districts such as Sillogue, Coultry, Shangan and Poppintree, and is close to both the Republic of Ireland's only IKEA store and to Dublin Airport. Barney Rock
Barney Rock (born 10 January 1961) is a former Gaelic footballer and Manager (Gaelic games), manager at club and inter-county level (he managed Westmeath county football team, Westmeath in the mid-1990s). Biography Born in Ballymun, but growing up in Glasnevin, Dublin, Rock attended St Kevins College, Ballygall. He played Gaelic football with his local club Ballymun Kickhams and was a senior member of the Dublin county football team, Dublin county team from 1980 until 1991. Ian Robertson (Gaelic Footballer)
Ian Robertson is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Ballymun Kickhams club and for the Dublin county team. Robertson retired from inter-county football due to an injury in 2008 which dramatically affected his fluency of movement. He was part of the 2012 Dublin senior management team. He was a selector with the 2013 Dublin senior team. Playing career Robertson's final championship appearance was in Dublin's 2004 All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Kerry. He did appear for Dublin again but had to give up again due to injury. Robertson captained Dublin to the 1993 Leinster Minor Football Championship before losing to Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final. He also played at under-21 level in the No 9 jersey. Philly McMahon
Philip "Philly" McMahon (born 5 September 1987) is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the Ballymun Kickhams club and for the Dublin county team. Playing career Club McMahon is a member of the Ballymun Kickhams Senior Football team. in 2013, Ballymun reached the 2012–13 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship final. McMahon scored a goal as Ballymun were defeated by St. Brigid's of County Roscommon by a single point, on a scoreline of 2-11 to 2-10. Gerry McCaul
Gerry McCaul is a former Gaelic football manager and player who spent time in both roles with the senior Dublin county team. John McCarthy (Gaelic Footballer)
John McCarthy (born 1955) is a former Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Dublin county team, who making his championship debut in a defeat by Louth in a Leinster SFC Replay in 1973. However this would be his team's last defeat in the province until 1980. He was once described by former Donegal manager Brian McEniff as the most lethal of the six Dublin forwards. Gerry Hargan
Gerry Hargan is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Dublin county team. Hargan made his debut for Dublin in the National Football League against Kerry in Tralee. Hargan won an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medal for Dublin in 1983. He won his first Leinster Senior Football Championship title for Dublin in 1983 and went on to collect more in 1984, 1985, 1989 and 1992. He won a National Football League title with Dublin in 1987.
