John McCarthy (Gaelic Footballer)
John McCarthy (born 1955) is a former Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Dublin county team, who making his championship debut in a defeat by Louth in a Leinster SFC Replay in 1973. However this would be his team's last defeat in the province until 1980. He was once described by former Donegal manager Brian McEniff as the most lethal of the six Dublin forwards. Playing career Inter-county In the period 1974 to 1979, McCarthy won three All Ireland medals in 1974, 1976 and 1977. McCarthy was a crucial figure in these years particularly in the 1976 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final against old rivals Kerry as McCarthy struck for the first goal to set Dublin on their way to victory. He proved to be a real thorn in Kerry's side as he was also fouled for the penalty which led to Dublin's second goal. Garda GAA
Garda GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, founded in 1922. They are the GAA representative team of the Garda Síochána. Garda have won the Dublin Senior Football Championship on six occasions in 1927, 1929, 1933, 1934, 1935 and 1948. Garda won the Dublin Intermediate Football Championship on one occasion in 1986, bringing them back to senior status. Garda have also had success as a hurling side, having also won the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship on six occasions in 1931, 1929, 1928, 1927, 1926 and 1925. Aidan O'Mahony (born 8 June 1980, in Tralee) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays at senior level for the Kerry county team. He has 5 All-Irelands, 3 NFLs, 10 Munster Championships, 1 County Senior Championship, 1 Senior Club County Championship, 1 County U21 Championship, 1 County Intermediate Championship and 2 All Stars. A Garda Síochána member, he played for Kerry's U21 team in 2000 and 2001. He debuted for the Kerry senior team in the 2003 League campaign and in the Championship versus Clare in 2004. He started the 2004 All-Ireland Final against Mayo, which Kerry won. He repeated the performance in the 2006 All-Ireland Final against the same team. Ballymun () is an outer suburb of Dublin, Ireland, at the northern edge of the Northside, the green-field development of which began in the 1960s to accommodate a housing crisis in inner city areas of Dublin. James McCarthy (born 1 March 1990) is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the Ballymun Kickhams club and for the Dublin county team. Early life He was a student at Sacred Heart BNS Ballygall and St Kevin's College in Ballygall. DCU Career He attended DCU where he was a defender for the Gaelic football team. Tom O'Sullivan is a former Gaelic footballer from Rathmore County Kerry. A Garda Síochána by profession, he played his club football for Rathmore and his county football for the Kerry county team. Playing career Underage and junior O'Sullivan never played football for Kerry in the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship. However, he was part of the Kerry Vocational Schools team that won the All Ireland in 1997. He moved on to the Under 21 team in 1998 lining out at full back in the Munster semi final game with Clare, a game Kerry ran out winnings in a close game on a 0-10 to 0-07 scoreline.
