Baie Du Canot Rouge
The Baie du Canot Rouge ( en, Red Canoe Bay) is a bay of the Taureau Reservoir, in the unorganized territory of Baie-de-la-Bouteille, in the Matawinie Regional County Municipality (MRC), in the administrative region of Lanaudière, in Quebec, in Canada. From the middle of 19th century, forestry was the predominant economic activity in the sector. From 20th century, recreational tourism activities were highlighted. This body of water is very famous for pleasure boating. The lake's surface is generally frozen from November to April; however, safe circulation on the ice is usually from mid-December to the end of March. Geography The {Baie du Canot Rouge "is long (oriented to the southwest) and is located northeast of the Taureau Reservoir. Taureau Reservoir
The Taurus Reservoir is a reservoir in Matawinie, in the administrative region of Lanaudière, Québec, Canada. It is in the Saint Lawrence River drainage basin and is on the Matawin River. Toponymy The reservoir is named after a river rapid that was flooded in 1931 by the damming of Matawin River by Shawinigan Water and Power. The noise of the latter was reminiscent of the bellowing of a bull. Geography This large lake has of banks including many sandy beaches, including the beach of Pointe-fine located at the end of a peninsula that just into the centre of the lake. Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve
The Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve is a Quebec Wildlife Reserve located in the administrative regions of the Mauricie and Lanaudière, Quebec, in Canada. Comprising 1556 square kilometres, it includes 417 lakes and 13 rivers. Like all wildlife reserves, this area is dedicated to the conservation, development and use of wildlife as well as recreational activities. It is however not considered a protected area, because forest and mining activities are being allowed. The reserve is managed by Sépaq which offers camping and equipment rentals.
