Ameneh Bahrami
Ameneh Bahrami ( fa, آمنه بهرامی; born 1978 in Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian woman blinded in an acid attack. She became the focus of international controversy after demanding that her attacker, Majid Movahedi, be punished by being similarly blinded. The punishment is permitted under the Qisas principle of sharia law. Attack Movahedi had reportedly been harassing Bahrami, who he had met as a fellow student at Azad university in Islamshahr, for some time but no police action had been previously taken. Bahrami was walking home from her job at a medical engineering company in October 2004 when he attacked her. She attempted to escape, but Movahedi blocked her path and threw acid in her face. Mansour Bahrami ( fa, منصور بهرامی; born 26 April 1956) is a former professional tennis player. He is Iranian with dual French nationality since 1989. While only moderately successful on the ATP Tour, his showmanship has made him a long-standing and popular figure in invitational tournaments. Tennis career Mansour Bahrami reached the Davis Cup team at the age of 16. But following Iran's Islamic Revolution in the late 1970s, tennis was viewed as a capitalist and elitist sport and therefore banned. Zahra Bahrami, also spelled Sahra Baahrami ( fa, زهرا بهرامی; 25 January 1965 – 29 January 2011) (Previous name: Zahra Mehrabi), was a dual Dutch and Iranian citizen who was executed in Iran after being arrested during a political protest, and later convicted by the Islamic Revolutionary Court for drug trafficking. She was initially arrested in December 2009 for participating in the Ashura protests and charged with national security offenses as well as for being a member of Kingdom Assembly of Iran.
