Bagtyýarlyk PSA Territory
Bagtyýarlyk is a large contractual PSA territory consisting of several natural gas fields located in Lebap Province of Turkmenistan. It literally means ''happiness'' in Turkmen language. Bagtyyarlyk constitutes the bigger part of the gas rich Sagkenar (right bank of the Amu Darya River) area and includes Saman- Depe and Altyn Asyr fields. History The 30 year production sharing agreement for exploration and production of Bagtyyarlyk territory was signed in July 2007 between the Turkmen Presidential State Agency for Supervising the Use of Oil and Gas Resources and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) in Beijing, China. An annual production of 17 billion cubic meters of gas from new fields in Bagtyyarlyk along with 13 billion cubic meters coming from Saman-Depe and Altyn Asyr fields will fill Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline which was inaugurated in December 2009. Lebap Region ( tk, Lebap welaýaty/Лебап велаяты from the Persian ''Lab-e āb'') is one of the regions of Turkmenistan. It is in the northeast of the country, bordering Afghanistan, Uzbekistan along the Amu Darya. Its capital is Türkmenabat (formerly named Çärjew). Dauletabad Gas Field
The Dauletabad Gas Field (also Döwletabat, Dauletabad-Donmez, and until 1991 known as Sovietabad) is a large natural gas field located in Mary, Mary province, Turkmenistan. It is located in the vicinity of the Turkmenistan–Iran border, and is named after the Dowlatabad settlement across the border in Iran. The field is a part of the Amu-Darya oil-gas province. History The Dauletabad structural feature was detected during geological surveys in 1957–1960. The Dauletabad arch was confirmed by seismic surveys in 1968. The exploratory wells confirming existence of natural gas reserves were drilled in 1972–1974. Production started at the Dauletabad field in 1982. Ýolöten Gas Field
The Galkynysh Gas Field, formerly known as Iolotan gas field or South Yolotan – Osman field, is a large natural gas field near Ýolöten in Mary Province of Turkmenistan. It is the world's second-largest gas field. History The discovery of the gas field was announced on 2 November 2006. Late Turkmen president Saparmurat Niyazov invited Chinese CNPC and Turkish Çalik Enerji to participate in the exploration and development of the Ýolöten field. In 2008, the gas field was audited by Gaffney, Cline & Associates. Altyn Asyr, Turkmenistan
Altyn Asyr is a city in Tejen District, Ahal Province, Turkmenistan. Its main economic activity is cotton farming. Etymology The words ''altyn asyr'' mean "golden age" in Turkmen. The phrase is used to describe the post-Soviet era of Turkmen independence, particularly during the reign of President Saparmurat Niyazov.
