Bad Vilbel Station
Bad Vilbel station is located at the 183.6 kilometre mark of the Main-Weser Railway in the town of Bad Vilbel in the German state of Hesse. The Nidder Valley Railway branches from Bad Vilbel via Nidderau to Glauburg-Stockheim. The station is located in the network of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (Rhine-Main Transport Association, RMV). It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station. History Bad Vilbel station was opened with the opening of the Frankfurt– Friedberg section of the Main-Weser Railway station on 10 May 1850. The entire length of the Main-Weser Railway from Kassel to Frankfurt was opened to traffic on 15 May 1852. The section of the Nidder Valley Railway between Vilbel Nord (now called Bad Vilbel) station and Heldenbergen-Windecken (now Nidderau) was opened on 1 June 1907. Bad Vilbel
Bad Vilbel () is a spa town in Hesse (Hessen), Germany, famous for its many mineral water Spring (hydrology), springs. Bad Vilbel is the largest town in the Wetteraukreis district and part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main Regional Authority, Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area with its city center being located 8 km northeast of downtown Frankfurt, Frankfurt am Main at the banks of the river Nidda (river), Nidda. History Bad Vilbel was founded in 774 (first written document) but much older artefacts were found in the area. In 1848 during railway works, a Roman villa was unearthed with a Thermae and a Mosaic. A replica of this mosaic is presented in a modern exhibition in the spa gardens. 20th Century The town Vilbel got the label "Bad" (spa) in 1948 for its numerous mineral springs. Nidda Station
Nidda station is a station on the Gießen–Gelnhausen railway in the town of Nidda in the German state of Hesse. It is also at the end of the Beienheim–Schotten railway from Friedberg station. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn (DB) as a category 4 station. History The station was opened on 29 June 1870 with the opening of the end of the second section of the Gießen–Gelnhausen railway (Hungen–Nidda) by the Upper Hessian Railway Company (german: Oberhessische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft). At the end of November 1870, the line was extended to Gelnhausen. On 1 October 1897, the Beienheim–Schotten railway was opened from Beienheim via Nidda to Schotten. This made Nidda a major railway junction of the Wetterau. On 29 November 1959, passenger services on the Nidda–Schotten section were abandoned. Groß Karben station is a station at the 178.4 km mark on the Main–Weser Railway from Kassel via Marburg and Giessen to Frankfurt in the German state of Hesse. It is located approximately one kilometre from Groß Karben, now a district of Karben, and is located on the outskirts of the Karben district of Kloppenheim. The Innenstadt (''inner city'') is the central city district of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is part of the ''Ortsbezirk Innenstadt I''. Mittelhessen-Express
The Mittelhessen-Express is a train service operated by DB Regio AG in the German state of Hesse on the Main-Weser Railway and the Dill Railway, which was put into operation at the commencement of the 2007 timetable on 10 December 2006. After a re-tender of operations for twelve years, operations of the services from 11 December 2011 were taken over by the DB Regio Hessen GmbH, a newly formed wholly owned subsidiary of DB Regio.
