Autopista AP-53
The Autopista A-53 is a highway in north western Spain. It links Santiago de Compostela to Ourense and follows the N-525. It starts to the south east of Santiago at a junction with the Autopista AP-9 (72 km). It passes the Castle Pazo de Oca and Lalín. Thereafter the road has yet to be built and in the Serra do Faro the road as the N-525 crosses a pass at 810 m, under the Pico Seco. At Ourense there are junctions with the Autovía A-52 The A-52 is a highway in northwestern Spain. It starts at Vigo heads east from the town crossing the Autopista AP-9 and then the N-550 (Carretera), N-550/Autovía A-55. Santiago De Compostela
Santiago de Compostela is the capital of the autonomous community of Galicia, in northwestern Spain. The city has its origin in the shrine of Saint James the Great, now the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, as the destination of the Way of St. James, a leading Catholic pilgrimage route since the 9th century. In 1985, the city's Old Town was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ourense (; es, Orense ) is a city and capital of the province of Ourense, located in the Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of Galicia (Spain), Galicia, northwestern Spain. The AP-9 or ''Autoestrada do Atlántico'' is a toll motorway in Galicia, Spain. It starts in A Coruña and runs south past the cities of Santiago de Compostela, Pontevedra and Vigo, before ending at the town of Tui, a few kilometres north of the Portuguese border at the Minho River. The AP-9 is 178 km (111 miles) in length. Autovía A-52
The A-52 is a highway in northwestern Spain. It starts at Vigo heads east from the town crossing the Autopista AP-9 and then the N-550 (Carretera), N-550/Autovía A-55. It then goes over the Rio Tea running parallel to the N-120 (Carretera), N-120 and along the Rio Miño. At Ourense the road turns south out of the valley in conjunction with the N-525 (Carretera), N-525. It passes over the Alto de Allariz (725m) and Alto de Estivadas (900m). At Verín the N-532 heads 13 km south to the Portugal frontier where it becomes the E-801/A-24/IP-3. The road runs to the north of the Sierra de Peñas Libras and over the Alto de Fumaces (850m). The Peña Nofre (1,291m) lies to the north. The road heads east over the Alto do Canizo (1,035m) into the Valle de Sanabria overlooked by the Sierra la Cabrera rising to 2,044m at Mt Moncalvo. N-120 (Carretera)
The N-120 is a highway in northern Spain. It goes from Vigo to the Ebro Valley. Starting on the Rías Bajas at Vigo, the city is connected on the Autopista AP-9, the Autovía A-57, Autovía A-55 and N-550. The N-120 heads east into the Sierra del Suido past the Mondariz Baneario and the Puerto de Fontefría (790m). Most traffic now takes the Autovía A-52, both roads enter the valley of Rio Miño to Ourense. The A-52 heads south with the N-525. The river heads north east along the valley past the Cañón del Sil before leaving the valley to the east past Monforte de Lemos and then back into the Rio Sil valley which passes the southern end of the Cordillera Cantábrica and the towns of La Rúa and Barco de Valdeorras. 13 km west of Ponferrada, the road meets and becomes the Autovía A-6.
