Built on a steep incline on the south-west coast of the Greek island of Lefkada, the village of Athani ( el, Αθάνι) is the southernmost major populated region of the island accessible by sealed road. Ionian Islands (region)
The Ionian Islands Region ( el, Περιφέρεια Ιονίων Νήσων, translit=Periféria Ioníon Níson, ) is the smallest by area of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece located in the Ionian Sea. It comprises all the Ionian Islands except Kythera, which, although historically part of the island group, was separated and integrated to the Attica Region. Lefkada ( el, Περιφερειακή ενότητα Λευκάδας) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the modern regions of Greece, region of Ionian Islands (region), Ionian Islands. The capital of the regional unit is the town of Lefkada (city), Lefkada. The regional unit consists of the islands of Lefkada, Meganisi, Kalamos (island), Kalamos, Kastos and several smaller islands, all in the Ionian Sea. Apollonioi
Apollonioi ( el, Απολλώνιοι) is a former municipality on the island of Lefkada, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lefkada, of which it is a municipal unit. It is located in the southwestern part of the island. Its population was 2,768 at the 2011 census. The seat of the municipality was in Vasiliki (pop. 395). Its area is 124.709 km², comprising about 41 percent of Lefkada Island. Its largest towns are Ágios Pétros (pop. 422), Vasilikí, Sývros (379), and Marantochóri (330). Porto Katsiki
Porto Katsiki ( el, Πόρτο Κατσίκι, "goat port") is a beach on the Ionian island of Lefkada, Greece. The name is said to be because formerly only goats could reach this area. The beach is famed for its landscape and clear blue sea. It is located at the bottom of a concave pale cliff. It is 35 km from Lefkada town, near Athani village. Porto Katsiki has parking lots and canteens. There is no lodging, and camping is prohibited. There is a stairway down to the beach from the cliff-top parking. Agios Petros (meaning Saint Peter) ( el, Άγιος Πέτρος) is a town in the municipal unit of Apollonioi in the southern part of the Lefkada Island in Greece. Agios Petros is situated on a mountain slope north of Vasiliki, west of Syvros, and southwest of Lefkada. There are many beaches nearby, with clear blue waters. Vasiliki, Lefkada
Vasiliki ( el, Βασιλική, ''Vasilikí''; formerly Voivoida (Βοϊβόδα, ''Voïvóda'') is a town in the municipal unit of Apollonioi, on the island of Lefkada, Greece. It is situated on the south coast, 4 km south of Agios Petros and 25 km southwest of Lefkada (city). Vasiliki is a well known windsurfing spot during the summer months due to a local thermal wind known amongst windsurfers as 'Eric'. There are often over a hundred windsurfers in the bay at any one time. The area is also popular with other sailing craft and mountain bikers.
