Built on a steep incline on the south-west coast of the Greek island of Lefkada, the village of Athani ( el, Αθάνι) is the southernmost major populated region of the island accessible by sealed road. It is the nearest village to the famed beach of Porto Katsiki. The Ionian Islands Region ( el, Περιφέρεια Ιονίων Νήσων, translit=Periféria Ioníon Níson, ) is the smallest by area of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece located in the Ionian Sea. Apollonioi
Apollonioi ( el, Απολλώνιοι) is a former municipality on the island of Lefkada, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lefkada, of which it is a municipal unit. It is located in the southwestern part of the island. Its population was 2,768 at the 2011 census. The seat of the municipality was in Vasiliki (pop. 395). Its area is 124.709 km², comprising about 41 percent of Lefkada Island. Its largest towns are Ágios Pétros (pop. 422), Vasilikí, Sývros (379), and Marantochóri (330). Porto Katsiki ( el, Πόρτο Κατσίκι, "goat port") is a beach on the Ionian island of Lefkada, Greece. The name is said to be because formerly only goats could reach this area. Agios Petros (meaning Saint Peter) ( el, Άγιος Πέτρος) is a town in the municipal unit of Apollonioi in the southern part of the Lefkada Island in Greece. Vasiliki, Lefkada
Vasiliki ( el, Βασιλική, ''Vasilikí''; formerly Voivoida (Βοϊβόδα, ''Voïvóda'') is a town in the municipal unit of Apollonioi, on the island of Lefkada, Greece. It is situated on the south coast, 4 km south of Agios Petros and 25 km southwest of Lefkada (city). Vasiliki is a well known windsurfing spot during the summer months due to a local thermal wind known amongst windsurfers as 'Eric'.
