Mashhad ( fa, مشهد, Mašhad ), also spelled Mashad, is the List of Iranian cities by population, second-most-populous city in Iran, located in the relatively remote north-east of the country about from Tehran. It serves as the capital of Razavi Khorasan Province and has a population of 3,001,184 (2016 census), which includes the areas of Mashhad Taman and Torqabeh. Confess (band)
Confess is an Iranian heavy metal band. They are known for having faced charges in Iran for their music, in which they expressed anti-religious and anti-government views. The band, at the time a duo, received prison sentences totalling 14.5 years. Background Confess was formed in 2010 by Nikan Khosravi, and was later joined by Arash Ilkhani. They define their music as groove, nu metal, NWOAHM, and thrash. Their major influences include Lamb of God, Slayer, Slipknot, Trivium, DevilDriver, and Chimaira. Criminal charges and conviction Khosravi and Ilkhani were arrested on 10 November 2015 and held in solitary confinement.
