Armando Mariño
Armando Mariño (born 1968) is a Cuban artist. He works with oil and watercolour and is known for his strong, vibrant and intense palette. He is the holder of many awards including the Segundo Premio, Salón Nacional de Arte contemporáneo Cubano. He lives and works in New York. His mother was a physicist and his father an engineer. Despite their desire that he follow a scientific career, he chose to pursue his love of art. The Bienal de La Habana was founded in 1984. It takes place in Havana (Cuba) every two years. It principally aims at promoting the developing world in contemporary art circles, giving priority to Latin American and Caribbean artists, although artists from all over the world submit works. Marty Bax
Martine Theodora Bax (born 1956) is a Dutch-Canadian art historian and art critic in modern art. Her specializations are the work of Piet Mondrian and the relationship between art and Western Esotericism, especially Modern Theosophy and Anthroposophy.
