Arle, Gloucestershire
Arle is a district of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, England. It was historically a manorial estate which owned parts of the town now known as Hesters Way, Fiddlers Green, Arle and Benhall. The names Arle Court, Arle House and Arle Mill are relics of the historic past. Much of the area was market gardens and orchards in the early 20th century. There were only 2 roads in the village of Arle before 1940. Hesters Way
Cheltenham West is an area in the western part of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. It is the generic name for an area which includes the council wards of Hesters Way, Springbank, Arle, Rowanfield, Alstone, Fiddlers Green, St Mark's and some of St Peter's and the Moors. This area has a population of about 30,000 and includes large amounts of social housing. Retail Coronation Square shopping centre is at the centre of Cheltenham West and includes supermarkets, an optician, a dental practice, charity shops, betting shops and a variety of fast food outlets. After a number of years of decline, a regeneration programme for the shopping centre was started in 2013. Arle Court Transport Hub
Arle Court Transport Hub (previously known as Arle Court Park and Ride) is a park and ride facility on the outskirts of Cheltenham, England. History From 13 May 2019, drivers have been required to enter their car registration number to receive a parking ticket which must be scanned on a bus service. The change was introduced to prevent people from parking at the facility and walking to nearby businesses, leaving no spaces available for bus users. In March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, route 93 was withdrawn, with route 94 being diverted to serve the facility instead. Later that year, sixty car parking spaces were removed to make room for a construction compound. The compound will be used for the widening of the adjacent A40 road. Facilities The park and ride has parking for both cars and bicycles. Services Stagecoach West took over bus services on 14 May 2018. Previously, it was operated by Bennetts.
