Arisa
Rosalba Pippa (born 20 August 1982), better known by her stage name Arisa, is an Italian singer and actress. Early life Arisa was born in Genoa, Italy. A week after her birth, her family moved back to their original hometown, Pignola, a village a few kilometres from Potenza. (in Italian) Her stage name is an acronym of her family members' names: A from her father, Antonio; R from her own name, Rosalba; I and S from her sisters, Isabella and Sabrina; and A from her mother, Assunta. In 1999, she won first prize in the Cantacavallo competition in Teggiano for her singing ability. The president of the jury, journalist and writer Bianca Fasano, personally delivered the cup. Career Arisa rose to fame after her participation in the Sanremo Music Festival 2009. She placed first in the newcomers' section and won the Mia Martini Critics Award with her entry, " Sincerità". Sanremo Music Festival 2014
The Sanremo Music Festival 2014 (''64° Festival della Canzone Italiana di Sanremo 2014'') was the 64th annual Sanremo Music Festival, a televised song contest held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, Liguria, between 18 and 22 February 2014 and broadcast by Rai 1. Fabio Fazio and Italian comedy actress Luciana Littizzetto presented the show, which was based on the same rules adopted for the previous contest. Competing artists were split in two different sections—Big Artists and Newcomers. The Big Artists section included 14 established Italian artists. During the first and the second night of the show, each act performed two songs, and only one song per act was allowed to continue the competition, as a result of votes received by public and journalists. After the third night, Riccardo Sinigallia's entry, "Prima di andare via", was disqualified for being performed during a concert preceding the competition. The Sanremo Music Festival 2009 was the 59th annual Sanremo Music Festival. It was held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, during the five nights between 17 February 2009 and 21 February 2009, and it was broadcast by Rai 1. Tha last night of the show was also broadcast live by RTV21 in Albania, RTK in Kosovo and by RSI in Switzerland. The artistic director of the contest was Paolo Bonolis, supported by Gianmarzo Mazzi. Bonolis also presented the show, together with Luca Laurenti. The competition was divided into two different sections. ''X Factor'' is an Italian television music competition to find new singing talent; the winner receives a € 300,000 recording contract with Sony Music. The fifth season started on Sky Uno on 20 October 2011 and ended on 5 January 2012. It was the first season to be broadcast on a digital satellite television platform, after four seasons televised on state owned channel Rai 2. For the first time, the final was also broadcast in 3D. ''X Factor Italia'' is a TV show which airs on prime time in Italy. The singing competition is the Italian version of Britain's ''The X Factor''. As of Season 16, it is currently hosted by Francesca Michielin.
