Sanremo Music Festival 2012
The Sanremo Music Festival 2012 was the 62nd annual Sanremo Music Festival. It was held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, during the five nights between 14 February 2012 and 18 February 2012, and it was broadcast by Rai 1. The show, presented by Gianni Morandi with Ivana Mrazova and Rocco Papaleo, was a competition divided in two different sections. The "Big Artists Section", including 14 established Italian artists performing a previously unreleased song, was won by Emma Marrone with "Non è l'inferno". The "Newcomers Section", won by Alessandro Casillo performing "È vero (che ci sei)", was a competition starring eight debuting or little-known artists. Two of them were chosen through the contest ''Area Sanremo'', and six of them were chosen as the winners of the web contest ''SanremoSocial''. Gianni Morandi
Gianni Morandi (; born 11 December 1944) is an Italian pop singer, actor and entertainer. Early life Gian Luigi Morandi was born in a little village called Monghidoro on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. His father Renato was active within the Italian Communist Party and Gianni used to help him sell the party newspapers. At an early age Morandi worked as a shoe-shiner, cobbler and as a vendor of sweets in the village's only cinema. His vocal abilities led him to a number of small gigs, some of which were during the Communist Party's activities. Edoardo Bennato
Edoardo Bennato (born 23 July 1946, Naples, Campania, Italy) is an Italian singer-songwriter. He is the brother of the singer-songwriter Eugenio Bennato. He is considered one of the greatest Italian rockers, a genre that he has often combined with blues and folk. Laura Abela (born 13 August 1984), known by the pseudonym L'Aura, is an Italian singer, songwriter, composer, pianist and violinist. Giuseppe "Beppe" Carletti (born August 12, 1946) is an Italian musician, founder and keyboardist of the band I Nomadi. Career Carletti was born in Novi di Modena, Emilia-Romagna.
