Archery At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Team
The women's team archery event was one of five archery events held at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It was held at Yumenoshima Park, with the ranking round taking place on 23 July and match play on 25 July. South Korea remained undefeated in the Women's team Archery by winning a 9th consecutive gold medal. Background This was the 9th consecutive appearance of the event, which has been held every Games since 1988. Of the 12 teams that competed in 2016, 8 qualified to return, including all four semifinalists (winner South Korea, silver medalist Russia (competing as " Russian Olympic Committee" athletes this Games), bronze medalist Chinese Taipei, and fourth-place finisher Italy). The other teams from 2016 that had qualified to return are Japan, Mexico, China, and Ukraine. Yumenoshima Park
is a sports park in Yumenoshima, Kōtō, Kōtō Ward, Tokyo, Japan. It was made by improving a landfill site called Yumenoshima, which had been the final disposal site for garbage from 1957 until 1967. Yumenoshima was the site of the archery event of the 2020 Summer Olympics, Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. Yun Ok-hee (Korean: 윤옥희, Hanja: 尹玉姬, ; born 1 March 1985) is a South Korean archer, who won the gold medal in the team and a silver in the individual competition at the 2006 Asian Games and is a former world number one. 2008 Summer Olympics At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Yun finished her ranking round with a total of 667 points, six points behind ranking leader Park Sung-hyun. This gave her the second seed for the final competition bracket in which she faced Albina Kamaltdinova in the first round, beating the archer from Tajikistan 109-102. Park Sung-hyun (archer)
Park Sung-hyun (; born 1 January 1983) is an archer from South Korea who competed in two Olympic Games, winning three gold medals. Park made her international archery debut in 2001, winning the women's recurve title at that year's World Archery Championships. Her Olympic debut came at the 2004 Summer Olympics, where she won gold medals in both the women's individual and women's team events. She won two further medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics, achieving her third Olympic gold in the women's team event before earning the silver medal as the runner-up in the women's individual event. During her career Park achieved success in a variety of international competitions. Chang Hye-jin ( ko, 장혜진; or ; born 13 May 1987) is a South Korean former recurve archer. A two-time Olympic gold medalist, Chang was the Olympic champion in both the women's individual and women's team events at 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She is also a former number one-ranked recurve archer, having headed the World Archery Rankings between 2017 and 2019. After being introduced to archery at the age of eleven, Chang made her international debut in 2008. World Archery
The World Archery Federation (WA, also and formerly known as FITA from the French ''Fédération Internationale de Tir à l'Arc'') is the governing body of the sport of archery. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is composed of 156 national federations and other archery associations, and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee. History FITA was founded on 4 September 1931 in Lwow, Poland (today Lviv, Ukraine). Its seven founding member states were France, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Poland, the United States, Hungary, and Italy. The aim of the organization was to create regular archery championships, and to return archery to the Olympic Games (the sport had not been featured since 1920).
