Amphoe Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya ( th, พระนครศรีอยุธยา, ) is the capital district ('' amphoe Mueang'') of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, central Thailand. Its former name as the capital city of Ayutthaya Kingdom was "Krungthep Thawarawadi Si Ayutthaya" ( th, กรุงเทพทวารวดีศรีอยุธยา). History According to George Coedes, tradition states Ramathibodi I founded Dvaravati Sri Ayudhya in 1350. Created in 1897, the district was originally called Rop Krung (รอบกรุง). The district name was changed to Krung Kao (กรุงเก่า) in 1917. In 1957 the name was changed to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. to commemorate the old capital city of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. This makes it unique among Thailand's capital districts, the rest of which are named ''amphoe mueang'' followed by the name of province. Hua Ro, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya
Hua Ro ( th, หัวรอ, ) is a ''tambon'' (sub-district) in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. History Hua Ro is considered a historic place. It has been inhabited for at least 200 years since Ayutthaya was the capital of Thailand. Its name "Hua Ro" is derived from the "Thamnop Ro" (ทำนบรอ, ; literally translates as "the weir slows the flow of stream") located in its vicinity, a kind of weir made of wooden beams positioned in the water to break the speed of the river in order to prevent damage to the embankments. The water speed breaker was situated at the confluence of the former Lop Buri (now Chao Phraya River) and the front city moat in front of the former Maha Chai Fortress. Bird's-eye view of 350px Kamang ( th, กะมัง, ) is a ''tambon'' (subdistrict) in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Thailand. Naming Kamang is named after a small ''khlong'' (canal) ''Kamang'', (also known as ''Phai Ling'') runs through the north part of the area. ''Kamang'' (sometimes spelled ''Kramang'') literally translates as ' Smith's barb', an edible freshwater fish in the carp family. Geography It can be considered as the outer area of Ayutthaya Island. ''Tambon'' ( th, ตำบล, ) is a local governmental unit in Thailand. Below district (''amphoe'') and province (''changwat''), they form the third administrative subdivision level. there were 7,255 tambons, not including the 180 ''khwaeng'' of Bangkok, which are set at the same administrative level, thus every district contains eight to ten tambon. Bang Ban District
Bang Ban (, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Ayutthaya province, in central Thailand. History The district was originally created in 1894 as Sena Nai District, with its district office in Sai Noi Sub-district. Later Mr Khiao Bangban (นายเขียว บางบาล) donated a piece of land for the building of the new district office in Bang Ban Sub-district. So the government agreed to change the district name to the donor's family name, which became effective in 1917.
