Amir Khadir
Amir Khadir ( fa, امیر خدیر; born June 12, 1961) is a Canadian politician in the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA), Canada for the electoral district of Mercier, and the first male spokesperson for Québec solidaire, a sovereigntist and left-wing political party which was created by the merger of the Union des Forces Progressistes and Option Citoyenne, a feminist political movement, in February 2006. On December 8, 2008, Khadir became the first, and at that time, only elected representative for Québec solidaire in the general election in Quebec. In 2012, Françoise David was elected in Gouin, making her the second elected representative for Québec solidaire. Khadir served alongside David as Quebec solidaire's spokespersons and ''de facto'' leaders from the party's founding until November 2012, when he stepped down to allow the party to choose a new male co-spokesperson from outside the legislature in accordance with party statutes. Terrebonne () is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It is located in the North Shore region of the Montreal area, north of Laval across the Rivière des Mille-Îles. Gouin is a provincial electoral district in the Montreal region of the province of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It consists of part of the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough of Montreal. The riding covers the neighbourhoods of La Petite-Patrie and Parc Molson, plus a small part of Vieux-Rosemont. Françoise David
Françoise David (born January 13, 1948) is a former spokesperson of Québec solidaire – a left-wing, feminist, and sovereigntist political party in the province of Quebec, Canada. She was elected to serve as the Member of the National Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Gouin in the 2012 Quebec election, and then again in the 2014 Quebec election. Quebec Solidaire was born from the merger of Option Citoyenne with l'Union des Forces Progressistes. She is the author of the book/manifesto ''Bien commun recherché – une option citoyenne'' (over 7,000 copies sold in Quebec) which attempts to combine the concepts of "common good", social justice, ecology and economic democracy into a coherent political doctrine.
