Amberian Dawn
Amberian Dawn is a Finnish symphonic power metal band, formed in 2006 by Tuomas Seppälä and Tommi Kuri. Their fifth album '' Re-Evolution'' (a re-recorded compilation with a new singer) was released on KHY Suomen Musiikki & Encore Music in summer 2013. Their latest album ''Looking for You'' was released in January 2020, via Napalm Records. History Atheme One (2006–2008) Several of the members that would later form Amberian Dawn previously played in the group Virtuocity, and after Virtuocity's breakup, they formed a new band, based on keyboardist and guitarist Tuomas Seppälä's songwriting. The band was named Atheme One and had Peter James Goodman as their lead singer and lyricist. ''The Clouds of Northland Thunder'' is the second full-length studio album by Finnish symphonic power metal band Amberian Dawn. It was released 13 May 2009. Its single, "He Sleeps in a Grove", was the third Amberian Dawn song to have a music video produced. A bonus track on Amberian Dawn's third album ''End of Eden'' shares its title with the album. ''Re-Evolution'' is the fifth studio album by Finnish symphonic metal band Amberian Dawn. This album contains re-recorded songs from their past four albums; ''River of Tuoni'' (2008), ''The Clouds of Northland Thunder'' (2009), ''End of Eden'' (2010), and '' Circus Black'' (2012), each of the tracks remastered with lyrics performed by the band's new vocalist, Päivi "Capri" Virkkunen. Background After the band parted ways with Parviainen in November, the band decided to find a new vocalist. They announced in December 2012 that their new vocalist would be Capri Virkkunen, a Finnish singer with 2 solo albums released to her name. Capri performs her vocals in a more traditional rock fashion, despite the fact that she is classically trained. Metal Female Voices Fest
Metal Female Voices Fest was a heavy metal music festival dedicated to female vocalists, held annually in the Oktoberhallen in Wieze, Belgium from 2003 to 2016. It was organized by the ''Metal Organisation'', which later changed into "2 Wild 4 agency". The festival enables smaller and unknown bands within the female fronted genre to perform on a big stage beside bigger and more famous bands. Over the years, they gave away special awards or organized a warm-up which allowed bands to compete to perform on the festival for the next year. On 13 February 2017, it was announced that the Metal Female Voices Fest is put on indefinite hold. Dream Evil is a Swedish heavy metal band, assembled by producer Fredrik Nordström in 1999. History Producer Fredrik Nordström had the ambition of creating a power metal band of his own for a long time, but had difficulty finding anyone with musical ideals similar to his own. However, while on holiday in the Greek islands during the year of 1999, Nordström met the young guitarist Gus G (from Firewind). The musicians got along quite well, despite an age difference of over a decade. Plans for a band commenced – Gus had already been planning to relocate to Gothenburg, and upon his arrival he looked up Fredrik at Studio Fredman to begin writing.
