History and layout Most major roads in Brampton are concession roads laid out in the early 19th Century, in what was then Chinguacousy and Toronto Gore Townships. Snelgrove, Ontario
Snelgrove is a former hamlet in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, straddling the border between Brampton and Caledon, and centred on the intersection of Hurontario Street and Mayfield Road. It was known as Edmonton in the 1800s after the home town of local settlers. The area's boundaries creates a deviation of the Brampton/Caledon boundary which is otherwise bisected by Mayfield Road, to include the entire community within Brampton, which was done when Chinguacousy Township was abolished and split between Brampton and Caledon in 1974. The western end is located at the Orangeville Brampton Railway railway tracks west of Robertson Davies Drive, northern end just north of Collingwood Road / Highwood Road, eastern end just east of Etobicoke Creek. Mount Pleasant, Brampton
Mount Pleasant is a neighbourhood of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, located in the northwestern portion of the city. Historically, the community was a rural hamlet surrounded by agricultural lands. Since opening the Mount Pleasant GO Station in 2006, the area has experienced rapid suburban growth. Along with the Mount Pleasant GO Station retail amenities have opened in the area. The public library has opened up both floors and the library building is a reconstructed historic CPR station structure used as a cultural facility in the Mount Pleasant Civic Square shared with the Peel District School Board and the library.
