Alexander Robillard
Alexandre (Alexander) Robillard (1843–1907) was a Canadian politician. He was a Liberal Member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario for Russell from 1886 to 1898. He was born in Gloucester Township, Ontario in the year 1843 and studied in Ottawa. Robillard was involved in the operation of quarries providing material for construction in Gloucester Township. Honoré Robillard
Honoré Robillard (January 12, 1835 – June 13, 1914) was a Liberal-Conservative Member of the House of Commons of Canada for Ottawa City from 1887 to 1896 and a provincial Conservative Member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario for Russell from 1883 to 1886. He was first elected to the Ontario legislature by defeating his brother, Alexander, who was the Liberal candidate. He was born in Saint-Eustache in Lower Canada in 1835, the son of Antoine Robillard and Émilie Loriau, and studied in Ottawa. At the age of 17, he left for the gold fields of Australia, returning to Canada in 1858, by way of England. Robillard married Philomène Barrette in 1860. In 1862, he travelled to British Columbia, again in search of gold, and was employed in building the first wagon road in the province. Robillard returned to Ottawa in 1864 by way of Oregon. Onésime Guibord
On̩sime Guibord (April 22, 1858 РDecember 11, 1937) was an Ontario businessman and political figure. He represented Russell in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1898 to 1904 as a Liberal member. He was born in Saint-R̩mi, Canada East in 1858, the son of Narcisse Guibord, and educated in Montreal. He worked as a school teacher before becoming a general merchant at Clarence Creek, Ontario in 1866. He was named license commissioner for Russell County in 1892. He married Symodoc̩e Payment. Gloucester Township, Ontario
Gloucester ( ) is a former municipality and now geographic area of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Located east of Ottawa's inner core, it was an independent city until amalgamated with the Regional Municipality of Ottawa–Carleton in 2001 to become the new city of Ottawa. The population of Gloucester is about 150,012 people (2021 Census). History Gloucester, originally known as Township B, was established in 1792. Franco-Ontarians (french: Franco-Ontariens or if female, sometimes known as ''Ontarois'' and ''Ontaroises'') are Francophone Canadians that reside in the province of Ontario. Most are French Canadians from Ontario. In 2016, the Government of Ontario calculated that there are approximately 622,415 francophones residing in the province. The majority of Franco-Ontarians in the province reside in Eastern Ontario, Northeastern Ontario, and Central Ontario, although small francophone communities may be found in other regions of the province.
