Onésime Guibord
On̩sime Guibord (April 22, 1858 РDecember 11, 1937) was an Ontario businessman and political figure. He represented Russell in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1898 to 1904 as a Liberal member. He was born in Saint-R̩mi, Canada East in 1858, the son of Narcisse Guibord, and educated in Montreal. He worked as a school teacher before becoming a general merchant at Clarence Creek, Ontario in 1866. He was named license commissioner for Russell County in 1892. He married Symodoc̩e Payment. A Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) is an elected member of the Legislative Assembly of the Canadian province of Ontario. Franco-Ontarians (french: Franco-Ontariens or if female, sometimes known as ''Ontarois'' and ''Ontaroises'') are Francophone Canadians that reside in the province of Ontario. Most are French Canadians from Ontario. In 2016, the Government of Ontario calculated that there are approximately 622,415 francophones residing in the province. ''Le Droit'' is a Canadian French-language daily newspaper, published in Gatineau, Quebec. Initially established and owned by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, the paper was published by Martin Cauchon and his company, Capitales Médias, from 2015 - ? when a cooperative was formed by the employees to continue publishing the paper. History The newspaper was launched on March 27, 1913 as a tool to condemn Regulation 17, an Ontario law that restricted education in French at that time. Alexandre (Alexander) Robillard (1843–1907) was a Canadian politician. He was a Liberal Member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario for Russell from 1886 to 1898.
