Aerogem Aviation Ltd (sometimes written AeroGEM Aviation) was a Ghanaian cargo airline based in Ghana. Its head office is in the 1 Gemini Airlines Building in Old Cargo Village, Kotoka International Airport, Accra. It operates worldwide non-scheduled cargo flights. Its main bases are Kotoka International Airport, Accra and Sharjah International Airport, United Arab Emirates. History The airline was established and started operations in 2000 as Aerogem Cargo using a wet leased Boeing 707-320C aircraft. It was renamed Aerogem Aviation in October 2004. Kotoka International Airport
Kotoka International Airport is an international airport in Accra, the capital of Ghana. The airport is operated by Ghana Airports Company Limited, Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), which has its offices on the airport property. It is the sole international airport in Ghana. In 2019, the airport served a record 3 million passengers, although this reduced to 2.1 million in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It presently serves as a hub for domestic and regional operator Africa World Airlines, and a base for domestic operator Passion Air. The airport consists of two passenger terminals, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Terminal 2 serves only domestic flights, while Terminal 3 serves regional, international and long-haul operators. Aircraft leases are leases used by airlines and other aircraft operators. Airlines lease aircraft from other airlines or leasing companies for two main reasons: to operate aircraft without the financial burden of buying them, and to provide temporary increase in capacity. The Boeing 707 is an American, long-range, narrow-body airliner, the first jetliner developed and produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
