Axel Zeebroek
Axel Zeebroek (born 25 July 1978) is a triathlete from Belgium. He has won two triathlon race in his career, including the 2009 Ironman 70.3 Monaco. He is a member of the Pro Uplace Triathlon Team, coached by Bart Decru. Born in Dinant, Zeebroek started out as a swimmer at the very young age. He had won several Belgian league titles for the 400 m freestyle and individual medley, and the 1500 m freestyle. At age 17, Zeebroek advised his coach and his personal doctor to begin with triathlon. Zeebroek made his international debut in triathlon when he won the Belgian Junior Triathlon Championships in 1998, and finished sixth at the European Junior Championships in Velden on the same year. In 2002, Zeebroek became a professional triathlete. During his career, Zeebroek took part in 65 ITU and ETU competitions, and achieved eight Top 10 positions. Dinant () is a City status in Belgium, city and Municipalities in Belgium, municipality of Wallonia located in the Namur Province, province of Namur, Belgium. Velden, Limburg
Velden (; li, Velde) is a village in the municipality of Venlo (5,085 inhabitants) in Limburg, Netherlands. Location Velden is situated along the river Meuse about 5 km north of the center of Venlo on N 271 Rijksstraatweg. The German border in the east is 2 km. History During the War of the Spanish Succession, Velden was also occupied by Prussian troops and so until 1814 the Prussian part of Gelderland. Then it fell to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which established the border into Germany by the distance of a cannon on the banks of the Meuse to the east. ITU Triathlon World Cup
The World Triathlon Cup is an annual series of triathlon races staged around the world. The series is organised by the World Triathlon, the world governing body of the sport. Inaugurated in 1991, the World Cup began as an attempt to create a regular season under its management in tandem with the ITU Triathlon World Championship race. However, this meant that there was a World Cup champion as well as a world champion. Following the 2008 series the ITU reorganized its top level competitions and created the World Triathlon Series, a series of races that was to be the successor of the World Championship. Peter Croes (born March 16, 1984) is a triathlete from Belgium, specialized in the Olympic distance. He is a double titleholder at the European Junior Triathlon Championships, and is also currently ranked no. 73 in the world by the International Triathlon Union. Born in Bonheiden, Croes started out his sporting career as a football player in his early childhood, until he discovered triathlon at age twelve in a local school. From then on, he began competing in various local and national triathlon championships at the peak of his career. His first major success happened when he came third at the 2001 European Junior Triathlon Championships in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, followed by his winning triumphs at the same event twice, in 2002 and in 2003. Jan Frodeno (; born 18 August 1981) is a German triathlete who is the gold medal winner in men's triathlon at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, 3-time winner of the Ironman World Championship in 2015, 2016, and 2019, and 2-time winner of the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in 2015 and 2018.
