Avni Zogiani
Avni Zogiani (born 5 July 1970 in Pristina, Kosovo) is an Albanian activist, critic, lawyer, journalist and chairman of the civil society Çohu. Early life and education Zogiani is executive director of the Organization for Democracy and Anti-Corruption "Arise" since its founding in 2005 and the Center for Investigative Reporting, a leading organization in Kosovo to create a civil society front in the fight against organized crime and political corruption. Education and career Zogiani completed his studies at the University of Prishtina in 1998. During the years 2002-2003 he attended a professional development year in the School of Journalism at University of Indiana in Indianapolis, United States, while during 2004-2005 pursued a Master of Arts in Sussex European Institute, University of Sussex. Newborn Monument
The Newborn Monument (NEWBORN) is a typographic sculpture and tourist attraction in Pristina, Kosovo. Located in front of the Palace of Youth and Sports, the monument was unveiled on 17 February 2008, the day that Kosovo formally declared its independence from Serbia. The monument consists of the English-language word "Newborn" in capital block letters, which were painted bright yellow when the sculpture was first revealed. The monument was later re-painted with the flags of the states that have recognized Kosovo. At the unveiling of the monument it was announced that it will be painted differently on the anniversary of Kosovo's independence movement day every year. Kohavision (shortened to KTV, previously also Koha Vision) is a Kosovan free-to-air television channel launched on September 21, 2000. It was founded by politician and journalist Veton Surroi as part of KOHA Group, a media house currently led by Flaka Surroi. Its programming is centered towards news, with ''Koha e Lajmeve'' being the most watched news edition in the country. The broadcaster shares its press staff with the ''Koha Ditore'', a daily newspaper. Kohavision also runs Arta News, a 24-hour news and documentary channel.
