''Avatars'' is a trilogy of post apocalyptic fantasy novels written by Tui T. Sutherland. The trilogy contains three Book, books, namely ''So This Is How It Ends'', ''Shadow Falling'', and ''Kingdom of Twilight''.The story follows a group of teens who get transported into the future where they learn that they are avatars of different pantheons who must fight to find out who will become the ultimate ruler of the gods and humans. Novels ''So This Is How It Ends'' ''So This Is How It Ends'' is the first book in the Avatars Trilogy. It was released on October 10, 2006. Kali, Tigre, Gus, Diana, and Amon are five seemingly normal teenagers. Oro is a god in Tahiti and Society Islands mythology. The veneration of Oro, although practiced in varying intensity among the islands, was a major religion of the Society Islands in the 17th and 18th centuries, especially Tahiti, Tahaa, Moorea, and Raiatea. Quetzal
Quetzals () are strikingly colored birds in the trogon family. They are found in forests, especially in humid highlands, with the five species from the genus ''Pharomachrus'' being exclusively Neotropical, while a single species, the eared quetzal, ''Euptilotis neoxenus'', is found in Guatemala, sometimes in Mexico and very locally in the southernmost United States. The Yoruba people (, , ) are a West African ethnic group that mainly inhabit parts of Nigeria, Benin, and Togo. Orishas (singular: orisha) are spirits that play a key role in the Yoruba religion of West Africa and several religions of the African diaspora that derive from it, such as Cuban, Dominican and Puerto Rican Santería and Brazilian Candomblé.
