Autódromo De Benguela
Autódromo de Benguela was a race track located in Benguela, Angola. History Autódromo de Benguela was located west of the Benguela airport, about away from the Atlantic Ocean. The circuit was designed to replace Circuito da Praia Morena, a street circuit in downtown Benguela that had been used for sports car racing since the 1960s. The Autódromo de Benguela was opened on 21 May 1972 - one week before the Autódromo de Luanda in Angola's capital - after six months of construction. At that time, only the race track itself had been completed; unlike in Luanda, there was no pit lane or grandstands. In the following two years, the Autódromo de Benguela was mainly used for some endurance races in the Angolan sports car series. Benguela
Benguela (; Umbundu: Luombaka) is a city in western Angola, capital of Benguela Province. Benguela is one of Angola's most populous cities with a population of 555,124 in the city and 561,775 in the municipality, at the 2014 census. History Portuguese rule Benguela was founded in 1617 as ''São Felipe de Benguela'' by the Portuguese under Manuel Cerveira Pereira, 8th Governor of Angola (1604–1607). It was long the centre of an important trade, especially in slaves to Brazil and Cuba. Ships anchored about off the shore, in depths of and transferred loads to smaller boats which used five or six jetties in the town. However, the nearby deep-water sheltered harbour of Lobito was a much larger port. Besides the churches of S. Felipe and S. The Volkswagen Corrado is a compact four passenger (2+2), three door, front-engine, front-wheel-drive liftback coupe marketed by Volkswagen from 1988 until 1995, and manufactured by Karmann in Osnabrück, Germany. Mário Manuel Veloso de Araújo Cabral (; 15 January 1934 – 17 August 2020), commonly known by the nickname "Nicha" Cabral (), was a racing driver from Portugal. He participated in five Formula One World Championship Grands Prix (four starts), debuting on 23 August 1959. He did not score any championship points. Racing career Son of the second marriage of the 1st Count of Vizela, Cabral was regarded as Portugal's outstanding driver of the late 1950s and competed in the Portuguese Grand Prix in 1959 and 1960 finishing in tenth place and retiring respectively.
