Caruaru
Caruaru is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Pernambuco. The most populous city in the interior of the state, Caruaru is located in the microzone of Agreste and because of its cultural importance, it is nicknamed ''Capital do Agreste'' (Portuguese for the "capital city of the Agreste region"), ''Princesinha do Agreste'' ("Little Princess of Agreste"), and ''Capital do Forró'' ("the capital city of ''forró''"). Copa Truck
The Copa Truck is a Brazilian auto racing series, composed of trucks prepared for race. The category replaces the Fórmula Truck series in 2017. History The origin of the category came after nine teams left Formula Truck because of disagreements with the troubled management of Neusa Navarro Félix; these teams joined in an association creating the category that came to replace Fórmula Truck. Fórmula Truck
Fórmula Truck is a Brazilian Truck racing series. It ran from 1996 to 2017, when it folded and was reorganized into the Copa Truck. However, the series returned to its original name and format in 2021. History The idea for the racing series came from discussions between Aurélio Batista Félix, a truck driver from Santos, and Portuguese journalist Francisco Santos. The first race took place on 6 September 1987 at the Autodromo Internacional de Cascavel circuit in Paraná. The contest involved 35 competitors, and was named ''I Copa Brasil de Caminhões'' ("First Brazilian Trucks' Cup"). It served as a trial contest to ascertain the safety of the new type of racing. However, there was a fatal accident involving one of the participants; Jeferson Ribeiro da Fonseca, a driver who was also the president of Autodromo Internacional de Cascavel. Formula 3 Sudamericana was a South American Formula Three championship. It was inaugurated in 1987 and primarily held races in Brazil and Argentina, with a small number of events held in other countries across the continent. Its most notable graduates include former Formula One drivers Nelson Piquet Jr., Ricardo Zonta and Christian Fittipaldi, four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Hélio Castroneves, and Champ Car champion and former F1 driver Cristiano da Matta. Bruno Bonifacio (born 2 November 1994) is a Brazilian racing driver. Career Karting Born in São Paulo, Bonifacio entered karting in 2006, when he took the titles in the Junior Menor class of the Petrobras Cup and Brazilian Kart Cup. Bonifacio raced in karting until the end of 2010, when he became a champion in the São Paulo Cup. The Dallara F308 is an open-wheel formula racing car, designed, developed and built by Italian manufacturer Dallara, for Formula Three racing categories, in 2008. 2011 Formula 3 Sudamericana Season
The 2011 Formula 3 Sudamericana season was the 25th Formula 3 Sudamericana season. It began on 21 March 2011, in Velopark, and ended on 17 December at Autódromo Internacional Orlando Moura in Campo Grande. In year most complicated of the category, Fabiano Machado dominated the Championship, winning 17 of the 25 races in a season where only he and one other driver, Ronaldo Freitas, competed in every race. Bruno Bonifacio dominated the Sudamericana Class B, winning 12 races. Drivers and teams * All cars are powered by Berta engines, and will run on Pirelli tyres. All teams were Brazilian-registered. Felipe Giaffone
Felipe Giaffone (, born 22 January 1975) is a Brazilian racing driver. He competes full-time in the Copa Truck, driving the No. 4 Iveco Hi-Way for Usual Racing. He also works as a commentator for Rede Bandeirantes and BandSports. He competed in the Indy Racing League between 2001 and 2006. His father, "Zeca" Giaffone is the 1987 Stock Car Brasil champion and Mil Milhas Brasil five times winner in the 1980s. Racing career He went to the United States to drive in the Indy Lights series in 1999 where he was coached by Formula One legend and countryman Nelson Piquet. He began racing in the IRL in 2001 and won one race at Kentucky Speedway in 2002.
