Australian Music Association
The Australian Music Association (AMA) is an industry association for the music products industry in Australia, established in 1977. Its predecessor was the Australian Music Trades Association (AMTA). It hosts events such as the Melbourne Guitar Show and Sydney Drum and Percussion Show, and initiated Australian involvement in Make Music Day in 2018, now celebrated annually. The AMA published the magazine '' Australian Musician'' in print from 1995 until 2012, and online between 2014 and July 2023. History John Payton Snr (1920–2012) had inherited his family's music business, F. Payton and Son, founded in 1881 in Fleet Street, London. In 1969 Payton immigrated to Australia with his wife and two sons in 1969, and established F. Payton & Son in Clarence Street, Sydney, in 1972. Lloyd Spiegel
Lloyd Spiegel (born 1979) is an Australian guitarist, songwriter and singer. He began performing at age of 10 and has produced ten albums and collaborated on many other recordings both as artist and producer. Career Spiegel took an interest in the blues when he was six years old and found an album by Sonny Terry Brownie McGhee in his father's record collection. His father took him to shows by Dutch Tilders and Geoff Achison and in about two years was playing in blues club bands. He was invited to the US by Brownie McGhee at age 16. Spiegel won his first talent competition at the age of 10 and was playing regular gigs in Melbourne, Australia. Triple M is an Australian commercial radio network owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo. The network consists of 40 radio stations broadcasting a mainstream rock music format and 5 digital radio stations. The network dates back to the launch of Triple M Sydney in 1980.
