''Aurora Sutra'' was a German dark wave band that was formed in Hamburg by Patricia Nigiani and Peter Spilles, both members of Project Pitchfork. They began recording under the name Aurora, but added the "Sutra" after the release of their debut '' The Land of Harm and Appletrees'' in 1993. History Vocalist Patricia Nigiani and keyboardist Peter Spilles began recording under the name Aurora in 1993 as a side project to Project Pitchfork. The Cassandra Complex is a British electronic rock group originally formed by Rodney Orpheus, Paul Dillon, and Andy Booth in 1980 in Leeds, England. The current line-up still features Orpheus and Booth, with the addition of Hamburg musicians Volker Zacharias and Axel Ermes. Over the years, the band's sound has included elements of EBM, industrial, goth rock, new wave and synthpop, and the band's sound has been described as a blend of Joy Division, the Ramones and Kraftwerk. History The band was initially composed of Rodney Orpheus and Paul Dillon, who met when Orpheus gatecrashed Dillon's 21st birthday party in Leeds. Fifth Colvmn Records was a record label based in Washington, DC. The label was founded in 1990 by Zalman Fishman, owner of the nightclub FIFTH COLVMN, located in Washington D.C. The label's first release was Chemlab's debut EP Ten Ton Pressure. Jared Hendrickson of Chemlab also became the general manager for the label. Chemlab later played several dates with Nine Inch Nails, eventually attracting a distribution deal for their next release, Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar, with Metal Blade Records. The band Thud was the next artist to join the label. Music The songs "Ayizan" and "Guede" from ''Sun God'' were released on the various artists compilations ''Life Is Too Short for Boring Music Volume VII'' and ''Forced Cranial Removal'' by EFA and Fifth Colvmn Records.
