Fifth Colvmn Records
Fifth Colvmn Records was a record label based in Washington, DC. The label was founded in 1990 by Zalman Fishman, owner of the nightclub FIFTH COLVMN, located in Washington D.C. The label's first release was Chemlab's debut EP Ten Ton Pressure. Jared Hendrickson of Chemlab also became the general manager for the label. Chemlab later played several dates with Nine Inch Nails, eventually attracting a distribution deal for their next release, Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar, with Metal Blade Records. The band Thud was the next artist to join the label. Heavy, loud and unrelenting, Thud became very popular amongst Metal fans and critics alike luring Eli Janney from Girls Against Boys to contribute to their debut record Life & Death and earning co-headling performances with Stone Temple Pilots. Death Ride 69
Death Ride 69 were a tribal industrial garage band that formed in Los Angeles led by Linda LeSabre (Beatmistress). The original incarnation was a duo consisting of guitarist Don Diego and vocalist Linda LeSabre. The band also featured contributions from Mark Blasquez, Ethan Port, Wrex Mock, Dave Haas and Buc Bono. They released two full-length albums, '' Death Ride 69'' produced by Scott Arundale in 1988 and '' Screaming Down the Gravity Well'' in 1996. History Death Ride 69 was originally conceived in late 1987 by bass-drum duo Linda LeSabre and Don Diego out of Los Angeles, California. The Final Cut (band)
Final Cut was a techno-industrial band formed in Detroit, Michigan and led by Anthony Srock with a revolving cast of guest musicians. History Srock, then a DJ in Detroit, formed Final Cut (sometimes preceded by ''The'') in the late 1980s as a collaboration with DJ Jeff Mills. They released their debut single "Take Me Away" in 1989 and the album '' Deep in 2 the Cut'' later that year. Final Cut was noted for mixing established industrial music with Detroit techno, with a sound comparable to heavy metal but made with machines rather than guitars. ''Deep in 2 the Cut'' gained appreciation years later as an influential early entry in the development of industrial music. Ether Bunny
Ether Bunny was the name of an experimental big band and sound collage project founded by composer Daniel Vahnke and based in Phoenix, Arizona. Ether Bunny's music was strongly influenced by the big band and cartoon music of the 30s and 40s but also drew elements from bebop, musique concrète, modern classical, hip hop, electro and industrial music. To date, Ether Bunny has released two albums: A debut album titled '' Papa Woody'' released in 1996 and a follow-up ''Attention Please'' in 2017. The name is a play on Easter Bunny. Electro Assassin was the music project of London-based composer Kevin Gould, known for his work with Johnson Engineering Co. Ian Taylor provided vocals to the project between 1990 and 1994. The group released three albums: '' Jamming the Voice of the Universe'' (1992), ''Bioculture'' (1993) and ''The Divine Invasion'' (1995). D!v!s!on #9 (or Division #9) was the name of an electronic music project founded by composer Mick Hale and based in New Brunswick. Hale debuted with the studio album '' The True Creator'' in 1996 followed with '' Dub N Bass: Omen II'' in 1997. History D!v!s!on #9 was created in 1996 by New Brunswick-based composer Mick Hale. Snog (band)
Snog is a band that was formed by Australian musician Dee Thrussell, along with fellow art school friends Tim McGrath and Julia Bourke in 1989. The band's music is a fusion of many different styles, including industrial, techno, ambient, experimental, funk and country music. The band name is a reference to "kissing and cuddling". Gwar, often stylized as GWAR, is an American heavy metal band formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1984, composed of and operated by a frequently rotating line-up of musicians, artists and filmmakers collectively known as Slave Pit Inc.
