Attica TV
Attica TV is a Greek regionally based television station in Aspropyrgos of Attica. History It was established and started transmissions on March 20, 1997 as Thriasio TV. In March 2009 it took its current name. It is the primary channel of the Municipality of Aspropyrgos. Since July 2010 the station is broadcasting digitally via the Digea digital provider. Since mid-2012 it broadcasts programs from the Eastern Orthodox religious channel 4E TV of Thessaloniki. Employees of the station went to work retention on March 1, 2012 because they were unpaid for nine months. Program The program of the station includes documentaries from Greek sites and excerpts from the University of Aspropyrgos. Emissions also emerge from the 4E TV. However, the station's program usually does not include live its own productions or newscast, thus it is sometimes classified as "phantom channel". 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Anavyssos
Anavyssos ( el, Ανάβυσσος) is a town and a former municipality in East Attica, Greece located in the Athens Riviera. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Saronikos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 14.478 km2. At the 2011 census it had 6,202 inhabitants. It is situated near the Saronic Gulf coast, at the foot of the Olympos hill (487 m). It is 2 km north of Palaia Fokaia, 4 km east of Saronida, 10 km west of Lavrio and 34 km southeast of Athens city centre. The Greek National Road 91 (Athens - Sounion) passes south of the town, along the coast. Alpha TV is a Greek free-to-air channel, being one of the biggest stations in Greece. The station features a mix of Greek and foreign shows with an emphasis on information. MEGA Channel, also known as MEGA TV or just MEGA, is a television network in Greece, that broadcasts a mix of foreign and Greek programming. It is the first and the oldest private television network in Greece. 4E TV is a Greek private, partly informative with a purely religious content, television station that broadcasts terrestrially in Central Macedonia and is based in Ampelokipoi, Thessaloniki. It was founded in 1993 and started operating in early 1994. History The name of the network comes from the initials of the words of the phrase Greek Orthodox Ecclesiastical Informative Broadcast (') which is also a phrase of the official full name of the company. Aspropyrgos ( el, Ασπρόπυργος) is a suburb of Athens, and a municipality in the West Attica regional unit, Attica, Greece. The municipality had a population of 30,251 at the 2011 census. It has an area of 101.983 km2. Etymology The name 'Aspropyrgos' is derived from the Greek words , meaning 'white', and , meaning 'castle' or 'tower'. Nea Makri
Nea Makri ( el, Νέα Μάκρη) is a town in East Attica, Greece. Since the local government reform of 2011, it has been a municipal unit within the municipality of Marathon. The municipal unit has an area of 36.662 km2. It is part of the Athens metropolitan area. Geography Nea Makri is situated on the coast of the Petalioi Gulf, a gulf of the Aegean Sea, in the easternmost part of the Attica peninsula. Laurium
Laurium or Lavrio ( ell, Λαύριο; grc, Λαύρειον (later ); before early 11th century BC: Θορικός ''Thorikos''; from Middle Ages until 1908: Εργαστήρια ''Ergastiria'') is a town in southeastern part of Attica, Greece. It is part of Athens metropolitan area and the seat of the municipality of Lavreotiki. Laurium was famous in Classical antiquity for its silver mines, which was one of the chief sources of revenue of the Athenian state. The metallic silver was mainly used for coinage.
