Atlético Clube de Ultramar, commonly known as Atlético Ultramar, is an East Timorese football club based in Manatuto, Manatuto Municipality. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora. Ultramar is the only team to have ever won the Taça 12 de Novembro twice, winning the cup in both 2017 and 2018. Despite this the club has struggled in recent seasons, finishing in last place in the Primeira Divisão in 2019 and failing to qualify from the group stage in the Copa FFTL in 2020. Manatuto is a city in Manatuto Municipality, East Timor. Manatuto Vila has 3,692 inhabitants (Census 2015) and is capital of the subdistrict and district Manatuto. It is on the north coast of Timor, (about as the crow flies) east of Dili, the national capital, on the way to Baucau. The capital is known for its salt production and abundance of tamarind. Copa FFTL 2020
The 2020 Copa FFTL was an association football competition in men's domestic Timor football. The tournament was organised by the East Timor Football Federation and was held during 2020 in response to the Liga Futebol Amadora league system being cancelled due to COVID-19. The tournament was contested by the 20 clubs from the Primeira Divisão and Segunda Divisão. The competition featured a multistage format, with the participating teams initially being divided into four groups of five teams, each team playing each other once. After the group stage the four group winners and the four group runners-up progressed to the quarterfinals of a knockout finals series to determine the winner. History Originally the club formed in 1986 when Pedro Carrascalão was a high school student during the period when East Timor was still under Indonesian occupation. Karketu Dili Futebol Clube is a Timorese professional football club based in Dili, that competes in the Liga Futebol Amadora, the top tier domestic league since its inception in 2016. Liga Futebol Amadora Primeira Divisão (often referred to as the LFA Primeira Divisão) is the highest division of the Liga Futebol Amadora and the highest overall in the Timorense football league system. Manatuto Municipality
Manatuto (, ) is one of the municipalities (formerly districts) of East Timor, located in the central part of the country. It has a population of 45,541 (Census 2010) and an area of 1,783.3 km². The capital of the municipality is also named Manatuto. It is the least populated municipality of East Timor. Etymology The word ''Manatuto'' has been said to be a Portuguese approximation of the local Tetum and Galoli language word ''Manatutu'', which means 'pecking birds'.
