Liga Futebol Amadora Primeira Divisão (often referred to as the LFA Primeira Divisão) is the highest division of the Liga Futebol Amadora and the highest overall in the Timorense football league system. The league is not fully professional. History The Liga Futebol Amadora Primera Divisão started from the 2016 season and replaced Super Liga Timorense as the top tier league in Timor Leste. Sport Laulara e Benfica become the first champions of the league. In 2020 Lalenok United became the first team from the competition to represent Timor Leste in the AFC Cup after winning the competition in 2019. Karketu Dili
Karketu Dili Futebol Clube is a Timorese professional football club based in Dili, that competes in the Liga Futebol Amadora, the top tier domestic league since its inception in 2016. The club wins the Premeira Divisão in 2017, finishing with a total of 28 points, 3 above runners up AS Ponte Leste. Aileu District
Aileu (, ) is a municipality, and was formerly a district, of East Timor. It has a population of 48,554 (Census 2015) and an area of 737 km². The municipality's capital is also named Aileu. Its administrative posts are Aileu, Laulara, Lequidoe and Remexio. Etymology The word ''Aileu'' means "bent tree" in the local Mambai language. According to legend, the root of a banyan fig tree (''Ficus benghalensis'') grew to maturity without a branch or leaf. The tree developed into a twisted shape that looked like a chair; its unique appearance made it famous, and eventually gave the community its name. Nowadays, the wooden chair is also the symbol of the municipality. Geography Aileu is in the northwestern part of East Timor and is one of only two landlocked municipalities, the other being Ermera. AS Ponta Leste
AS Ponta Leste is a football club based in Dili, East Timor. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora in the Primeira Divisão. The club's most successful season came in 2016 in which the team won the 2016 Taça 12 de Novembro after beating Assalam FC 1-0 in the final, as well as the Super Taça which they won against league champions Benfica Laulara 2-1. Since then however the team has yet to win any further competitions. Lalenok United Football Club, commonly known as Lalenok United, is an East Timorese football club based in Dili. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora Primeira Divisão, after finishing runners up and being promoted from the Segunda Divisão in 2018. In 2019 the team won the Primeira Divisão title, finishing the season with a total of 30 points from 14 matches, 5 points clear of previous champion Boavista. In the same season the team also won the Taça 12 de Novembro and the LFA Super Taça, becoming the first Timorese team to ever win all three competitions. Emmanuel FC
Emmanuel FC is a professional football club of East Timor based in Dili. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora. Between 2017 and 2019, he played in the third division of the national football championship ( 2019 LFA Terceira), being promoted in the latter to the second division (Liga Futebol Amadora Segunda Divisão). Manatuto District
Manatuto (, ) is one of the municipalities (formerly districts) of East Timor, located in the central part of the country. It has a population of 45,541 (Census 2010) and an area of 1,783.3 km². The capital of the municipality is also named Manatuto. It is the least populated municipality of East Timor. Etymology The word ''Manatuto'' has been said to be a Portuguese approximation of the local Tetum and Galoli language word ''Manatutu'', which means 'pecking birds'. Atlético Clube de Ultramar, commonly known as Atlético Ultramar, is an East Timorese football club based in Manatuto, Manatuto Municipality. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora.
