Copa FFTL 2020
The 2020 Copa FFTL was an association football competition in men's domestic Timor football. The tournament was organised by the East Timor Football Federation and was held during 2020 in response to the Liga Futebol Amadora league system being cancelled due to COVID-19. The tournament was contested by the 20 clubs from the Primeira Divisão and Segunda Divisão. The competition featured a multistage format, with the participating teams initially being divided into four groups of five teams, each team playing each other once. After the group stage the four group winners and the four group runners-up progressed to the quarterfinals of a knockout finals series to determine the winner. The tournament was won by Lalenok United, defeating AD Sport Laulara e Benfica in the final 2-1. Group stage The draw for the group stage was conducted on the 14th of August 2020. AS Ponta Leste
AS Ponta Leste is a football club based in Dili, East Timor. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora in the Primeira Divisão. The club's most successful season came in 2016 in which the team won the 2016 Taça 12 de Novembro after beating Assalam FC 1-0 in the final, as well as the Super Taça which they won against league champions Benfica Laulara 2-1. Since then however the team has yet to win any further competitions. The club owned by Inácio Moreira the Vice-Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications of Timor Leste and Osório Florindo the vice-President of Federação de Futebol de Timor-Leste. Timor-Leste National Football Team
The Timor-Leste national football team is the national team of East Timor () and is controlled by the Federação de Futebol de Timor-Leste. They joined FIFA on 12 September 2005. Timor-Leste's international debut was in the preliminary round of the 2004 AFC Asian Cup qualification in March 2003, when they lost 3–2 to Sri Lanka and 3–0 to Chinese Taipei. They also participated in the 2004 AFF Championship. Timor-Leste's participation in Southeast Asia's premier international football event in 2004 was announced after an Asian Football Confederation council meeting in Petaling Jaya. Lalenok United
Lalenok United Football Club, commonly known as Lalenok United, is an East Timorese football club based in Dili. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora Primeira Divisão, after finishing runners up and being promoted from the Segunda Divisão in 2018. In 2019 the team won the Primeira Divisão title, finishing the season with a total of 30 points from 14 matches, 5 points clear of previous champion Boavista. In the same season the team also won the Taça 12 de Novembro and the LFA Super Taça, becoming the first Timorese team to ever win all three competitions. Emmanuel FC is a professional association football, football club of East Timor based in Dili. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora. Between 2017 and 2019, he played in the third division of the national football championship (Liga Futebol Amadora Terceira Divisão, 2019 LFA Terceira), being promoted in the latter to the second division (Liga Futebol Amadora Segunda Divisão). Fitun Estudante Lorosae (in Tetum mean ''Star students of the east''), commonly known as FIEL is an East Timorese football club based in Dili. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora. History In early 2017, the creation of a third league was considered in East Timor. One of the team that talked about it was FC FIEL.
