Founded in 2006 as the Athens Regional Foundation Classic, it was played at Jennings Mill Country Club in Bogart, Georgia from 2006 to 2009 and at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Georgia Athens, officially Athens–Clarke County, is a consolidated city-county and college town in the U.S. state of Georgia. Athens, officially Athens–Clarke County, is a consolidated city-county and college town in the U.S. state of Georgia. Troy Kelly
Troy Kelly (born August 2, 1978) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Amateur career Kelly became the youngest player to ever compete in Washington State Junior Golf Association (WJGA) tournaments at the age of 6. He was the WJGA state champion at age 11 and 13. He won more than 40 tournaments in his junior golf career. He turned professional after graduating from the University of Washington in 2003. Professional career Kelly played on mini tours from 2003 to 2008. He played on the Gateway Tour in 2003, 2005 and 2006 where he won two events. Justin Bolli
Justin Bolli (born March 18, 1976) is an American professional golfer. who has played on the PGA Tour and the Web.com Tour. Bolli was born in Portland, Oregon. Bolli started playing on the Nationwide Tour (now Web.com Tour) full-time in 2004 and moved up to the PGA Tour in 2005. In his rookie season on the PGA Tour, he only made 9 of 24 cuts with his best finish being tied for 17th at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic. He moved back to the Nationwide Tour in 2006. He finished in 8th place on the Nationwide Tour's money list in 2007 to earn his PGA Tour card for 2008. Martin Laird
Martin Laird (born 29 December 1982) is a Scottish professional golfer, playing on the PGA Tour. He has won four PGA Tour events in his career, most recently the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in 2020. Until Russell Knox earned his card via the 2011 Nationwide Tour, Laird was the only Scottish player on the PGA Tour. Early golf career Laird was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and played his Junior golf at Kirkintilloch Golf Club and then moving to play his youth golf at Hilton Park Golf Club. Greg Owen (golfer)
Gregory Clive Owen (born 19 February 1972) is an English professional golfer. Career Owen was born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He turned professional in 1992 and gained his European Tour card at the 1997 qualifying school. He finished in the top 100 of the Order of Merit every year from 1998 to 2004, and won for the first time on tour at the 2003 Daily Telegraph Damovo British Masters at his 158th tournament. At the 2001 Open Championship, Owen notably became only the sixth golfer in the history of the competition to score a rare albatross (double eagle), on the par-5 11th hole at Royal Lytham. Robert Damron
Robert Douglas Damron (born October 27, 1972) is an American professional golfer, who has played on the PGA Tour. He is a studio analyst for the Golf Channel. Damron was born in Pikeville, Kentucky and raised there and later in Orlando, Florida after his father, a wealthy Kentucky coal magnate, moved the family to Bay Hill. Damron had the benefit of some early advice about golf from Bay Hill neighbor Arnold Palmer. He attended Orlando's Dr. Phillips High School graduating in 1990. Damron later attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando from 1991 to 1994, where he was a distinguished member of the golf team, earning All-American honors three times. He won five collegiate events while at UCF. He turned pro in 1994, becoming the first UCF student to earn a full-time berth on the PGA Tour. Michael Sim
Michael Sim (born 23 October 1984) is an Australian professional golfer. Amateur career Sim was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, and moved to Australia when he was 5 years old. He was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder in 2002. He was the top ranked amateur in the world in 2005 having won four titles during the year including the Sunnehanna Amateur and the Monroe Invitational. He turned professional at the end of the year. Patrick Sheehan (golfer)
Patrick Sheehan (born August 9, 1969) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour. Sheehan was born in Providence, Rhode Island. While at the University of Hartford he was teammates with other future PGA Tour golfers Tim Petrovic and Jerry Kelly.
