Aster is a developing neighbourhood in southeast Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was named for the flowering plant genus ''Aster'', of which heath aster and flat-topped white aster are most common in Alberta. Aster is located within The Meadows area and was originally identified as Neighbourhood 5 within The Meadows Area Structure Plan (ASP). It was officially named Aster on April 30, 2014. The Meadows is a residential district in the City of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Located in southeast Edmonton, The Meadows is bounded by Whitemud Drive ( Highway 14) to the north, 34 Street to the west, and Anthony Henday Drive (Highway 216) to the east and south. Anthony Henday Drive (Highway 216) is a freeway that encircles Edmonton, Alberta. It is a heavily travelled commuter and truck bypass route with the southwest quadrant serving as a portion of the CANAMEX Corridor that links Canada to the United States and Mexico.
