Asphalt Lady
is a Japanese band from Yokohama, Japan. It consists of lead vocalist Kiyotaka Sugiyama, rhythm guitarist Shinji Takashima, lead guitarist Kenji Yoshida, keyboardist Toshitsugu Nishihara, bassist Takao Oshima, drummer Keiichi Hiroishi. The start of the Omega Tribe project, the band first came together as in 1978 consiting of high schoolers who frequented a live house. After their performance at the 19th and 20th Yamaha Popular Song Contests, they were scouted by Koichi Fujita, who produced their discography alongside composer Tetsuji Hayashi. During their three-year career, the band released five studio albums, ''Aqua City'' (1983), ''River's Island'' (1984), ''Never Ending Summer'' (1984), ''Another Summer'' (1985), and ''First Finale'' (1985). The Oricon Albums Chart is the Japanese music industry standard albums popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Oricon originally published LP, CT, Cartridge and CD charts prior to the establishment of the Oricon Albums Chart on October 5, 1987. The Oricon Albums Chart's rankings are based on physical albums' sales. Oricon did not include download sales until its establishment of the Digital Albums Chart on November 19, 2016. In November 2018, Oricon began to include streaming in its album rankings, introducing a combined album chart based on album-equivalent units. The Oricon Singles Chart is the Japanese music industry-standard singles popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Chart rankings are based on physical singles' sales. Until 2017, Oricon did not track download sales. In Japan, physical sales decreased sharply in the 2000s, while download sales hit three to four times the amount of single sales. In November 2017, Oricon introduced its first digital songs chart, separate from its main physical singles chart. In November 2018, Oricon launched a streaming chart, and introduced a combined singles chart that utilizes physical single sales, downloads, and streams. Kamasami Kong (real name Robert W. Zix, born December 21, 1949 in Hamilton, Ohio) is an American disc jockey living in Tokyo. He has been active in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, as well as previsously in Hawaii with the radio program "The Kamasami Kong Show" on Hawaii Public Radio, KKUA and KUBT, KIKI. Chinfa Kan
(born June 24, 1953) is Japanese lyricist of Korean descent. Biography Chinfa Kan was born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan as a second-generation Zainichi. He graduated from Shizuoka Prefectural Hamamatsu-Nishi Senior and Junior High Schools. While attending Waseda University, he took up tanka writing and participated in the college's short song festivals. Kan made his debut as a lyricist in 1979 with Ann Lewis' "Shampoo", which was composed, arranged, and produced by Tatsuro Yamashita. He then wrote numerous hit songs with Tetsuji Hayashi. Kan also wrote lyrics for artists such as Hiromi Go, The Checkers, Agnes Chan, Akina Nakamori, Kyōko Koizumi, Anri, Miho Nakayama, KinKi Kids, Mika Nakashima, and BoA. Sugar (Japanese: シュガー) were a Japanese idol trio formed in 1981 by Miki Kasamatsu, Kumiko Nagasawa, and Kimiko Mohri. Originally formed as a band with all three members playing instruments, the group slowly shifted away from use of their instruments an becoming a vocal group by the latter half of their career.
