Ashley Hans Scheirl
Hans Scheirl, also known as ''A. Hans Scheirl'', ''Angela Scheirl'', ''Hans Angela Scheirl'' or ''Ashley Hans Sheirl'', (born 1956) is a transgender artist and filmmaker from Salzburg, Austria. Scheirl first began his transition at the age of 40 with testosterone shots. He currently identifies as "boy, drag-king, transvestite, transgender... ndinsect." He has also performed in some experimental groups including the music group "8 oder 9" in Vienna in 1978. Scheirl's films use "the cinematic apparatus as a technology for perverting representation". He outlines his work as "cyber-cinema for the trans-X patriarchal fin-de-millenium." Education In 1975 he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria and received a diploma in Conservation and Technology of Art in 1980. Tina Keane
Tina Keane (born 1940) is a British artist who has worked with film, video, digital media, and performance, and been a forerunner of multimedia art in the UK. Reflecting a feminist perspective, her works have often explored gender roles, sexuality, and political concerns. She has stated that her work is primarily about "identity and play". Biography Keane studied at the Hammersmith College of Art and at the Sir John Cass School of Art (1967–70) and received an MA in Independent Film and Video from the London College of Printing (1995–96). She was a founder member of the non-profit women’s film distribution organization Circles - Women in Distribution. Del LaGrace Volcano (born July 26, 1957) is an American artist, performer, and activist from California. A formally trained photographer, Volcano's work includes installation, performance and film and interrogates the performance of gender on several levels, especially the performance of masculinity and femininity. Volcano continued to live the first 37 years of their life as a woman, but since then has been living as both male and female.
