Maplewood is a suburban neighborhood in Southwest Portland, Oregon, United States. Location Maplewood is on Portland's western border with Garden Home and on Multnomah County's western border with Washington County. (Small portions of the neighborhood, and thus the city of Portland, extend into Washington County.) The neighborhood is defined as the area west of SW 45th Avenue to the city limit (at approximately SW 66th Avenue), between SW Vermont Street (the northern edge) and SW Multnomah Boulevard (the southern edge). Multnomah is a neighborhood in the southwest section of Portland, Oregon, centered on the Multnomah Village business district. The community developed in the 1910s around a depot of the Oregon Electric Railway of the same name. It was annexed by the city of Portland on November 7, 1950. Multnomah is bordered by SW 45th Ave. on the west, SW Capitol Hill Road on the east, SW Vermont St. on the north, and I-5 in the south. Garden Home-Whitford is a census-designated place (CDP) consisting of the neighborhoods of Garden Home and the smaller Whitford area in Washington County, Oregon, United States. They are located in the southwest hills of Portland, near Beaverton. As of the 2020 census, the CDP population was 7,081. History Garden Home post office was established in 1882. Garden Home was an established community when the Oregon Electric Railway was built at the beginning of the 20th century, which named a depot on the line for the community. Whitford was a station on the same line, located at the present-day intersection of Allen Road and Scholls Ferry Road (Oregon Route 210); the name was created by combining the names of W.A.
